yes all deserved, even the family that was not drowned, just like each and everyone of us deserve nothing but death since all of us are evil in our own ways,
It is only though the love of Christ and his sacrifice that anyone will be saved.
And this is the God there is, if you want him or not.

And God saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth; and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually.
The earth also was corrupt before God, and the earth was filled with violence.
And God looked upon the earth, and, behold, it was corrupt; for all flesh had corrupted his way upon the earth.
Genesis 6:5, 10-11
God is always right. Surely you would not want Him to let evil continue on and get worse. God is love, gentle, and forgiving. If He wasn't He wouldn't have even saved Noah. He wouldn't have sent His son to die for us. He will not tolerate those who reject His love, gentleness, and forgiveness forever. I'm glad he cleaned up the earth then, and I'm glad that he is again very soon. I am sad that men act in such a way that he needs to.

All of us deserve God's judgement for all have sinned and fall short of God's glory. God is infinitely good and full of kindness. He is not willing that any should perish but is longsuffering toward us giving us time and opportunity to come to our senses and repent.
If we continue to despite His goodness and harden our hearts against Him, then, at some point, eventually we must be judged. God knows when there is no way back and also the harm we do to others by our wilful impenitence.
He also knows when it would be better to take the young before they can grow into such as would bring down judgement upon themselves because of the example of the impenitent.
God is the kindest, most loving Father who always desires our best, not just good. Has He not more than proved this by sending His own beloved Son to suffer the punishment of hell for each and every one of us that we might be free ? And while we yet ignore or reject or despise Him.
For if when we were enemies we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, much more, being reconciled we shall be saved by his life. He that spared not his own Son but delivered him up for us all, how shall he not with him freely give us all things ?
That you charge such a loving and merciful God with savagery shows a complete and utter misunderstanding and (forgive me) ignorance. Again forgive me but it makes you look savage. How can you presume to be so judgemental of God in such ignorance ?
I am sorry my words are strong but your expression is strong.
Beware that you do not create a fictional god in your imagination suited to your own weak and limited view. Such would merely be an idol.
Rather seek to know the true God who is righteous and holy and full of love and tender mercy to those who humble themselves and are of a lowly and contrite heart.
Blessed are the poor in spirit. If you are confused give it over to God , refuse your own preconceptions and seek Him, ask Him to show you of Himself. You will not regret it.
If I may quote Paul : But what things were gain to me, those I counted loss for Christ. Yea doubtless, and I count all things but loss for the excellancy of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord for whom I have suffered the loss of all things and do count them but dung that I may win Christ.
That does not sound like a man who loves a savage God does it ?
My witness is poor, but I wholly concur.
Seek you that knowledge also.

Perhaps the flood just happened and a lot of people drowned, and a few people and animals escaped it. Around this springs a big story about a man taking two of every animal, and his family, to safety in a big boat (highly unlikely). Over time, the story is embellished until it is barely recognizable from the original event. The Bible was written, and translated, and edited, and re-written until those stories became even more distorted.

i think god made a bad choice picking Noah , as it is his family that survived the flood , so all the bad things that people are doing now must have come from Noah's descendants .
or is so dim wit going to find an excuse for this mistake that god made , well i think god has never made a mistake for the simply reason how can someone make a mistake if they do not ever existed

Don't you think he knows what he is doing? Those people were very wicked and were bringing up wicked generations, they were warned, just like we are warned, but they didn't head to those warnings, and they were punished, I'm sure that it was hard not to take everyone on the boat, and if you believe that he is a loving god and that children are blameless then you would believe that those babies and children were "saved" and since they are blameless then they have a place in Heaven.

I understand how you feel. I am a Christian and there are parts of the Bible that I have struggled with also. Some it is caused by my lack of understanding of the culture of that time. People were very evil, sacrificing children to idols things of that nature. One thing as I study the OT I have learnt that God was faithful to the covenant He made to Abraham and is still faithful to that covenant.I want to learn more about this OT God, because He is the God that Jesus came from to save us. So all the gentle qualities that you speak of are in Christ. I have started a Bible study and hope to find answers. I hope you find answers too while you are searching. The Bible tells us that God rewards those that diligently seek Him. Hope you discover the Love of God. And many Blessing to you in the New Year.

I like to think of the flood story (and most others in the bible) kind of like the whole drama surrounding Santa - a LONG, elaborated story with added "extras" to teach a lesson. A flood may very well have happened in ancient times (there are recounts of a 'great flood' in other religions as well) but I seriously doubt it wiped out everybody except for Noah, the fam and 2 of every animal.

The actions and choices and wickedness of the pre flood inhabitants determined their fate. Heavenly Father was so anguished by the state to witch they had fallen to he regretted creating the Earth and it's inhabitants. Infants that die and anyone else that dies in a state of innocence inherits the Kingdom of heaven Even if they die in a cataclysmic event. Their worldly sufferings are done and they are in paradise. The wicked however
they are judged by what acts and choices they made.Justice is served by the rules that were played .Everyone dies. Maybe if the wicked hadn't been so damn wicked the infants that were dependant on those evil doers would have been able to grow up
and suffer like the rest of us that are still here in this Godless world. Why is death or the act of dying so abhorrent to you? It is
an inevitable reality, all that are born will die(unless of course one is translated).

God gave them 120 years in which to exercise Faith, by choosing to enter the Ark and be saved from the Flood.
They chose, rather, to scoff at Noah, at Noah's building such a ridiculous boat, at Noah's notion of a flood, etc.
So, now, in this Age of Grace, people are invited to exercise Faith by being in Christ. They choose, rather, to scoff at God's Word, to scoff at Christians, etc.
