party meatballs- supermarket meatballs cooked in crock pot with 1 bottle of heinz chili sauce and 1 bottle of grape jelly...throw this on first thing in the morning on low and by party time you will have some fan-freaking-tastic meatballs, serve with toothpicks
-or-
for a full meal, serve with rice cooked in rice cooker and some nice veggies streamed and glazed after being cut on the diagonal...and you will have a low maintenance meal that everyone will like and is pleasing and uncomplicated...
I'm not doing that this time, though...
honestly, if you don't tell them the meatballs are cooked with a jelly mixture, they'll n ever know...
I am serving a chilled shrimp ring and a chilled smoked salmon pinwheel ring, purchased at the grocery store
some cheeses, nuts, dip, chips, crackers, veggies, fruit...maybe a few Baci (these have a love poem in them, which is kinda cute if you are having all couples over) or Ferreo Rocher Chocolates, not too many
I'm making some two bite brownies and blondies, just using a mix for these and cooking them in mini muffin tins, with a dollop of whipped cream piped on top
Some Little Penguin Chard or White Shiraz and that's it...
Everyone does love my parties...I don't have to be in the kitchen all night and the food in unpretentious and fun...(If I do say so myself, too bad we can't say that for the hostess, lol)
