If the "someone else" is not a significant other, go ahead and go out with him but take it lightly and don't put any real feeling into it until/unless he's really ready to be with you and you feel the same about him, with the idea that you might even find out that you don't like him as much as you think you do. Don't set yourself up for a letdown. If you make yourself too available for him, or if you put on your best show just to try to win him over, you will be setting yourself up for a letdown. Just take it light and see what happens. Be realistic.

well if the someone else likes him and they are your friend and they told you tey liked him don't go for it but if the someone else is just a aquantince then you should go out with him

first see if he likes you a little better if he does then you need to out do her and look better then her, get ur hair done dress nice talk to him more , and get to know him better and he will forget about her cause you look better
