If so, where or how did you get your skills. I'm tired of paying someone to mess up my hair. I would rather mess it up myself for free.

i tried it like a month ago and now i am really scared as to what my stylist will think when i go in to get it cut

i had like a faux hawk that grew out and i just cut the back at first it looked super good but once it grew out it looks HORRIBLE

i wouldn't cut it unless you want to get a buzz cut with clippers

I do, and I occasionally cut my brother's hair as well, though not very frequently, and he doesn't have a particular style, just a short length all around.

For short men's hair, a lot of large chain stores carry sets of clippers and different attachments, and the one my brother has me use had a training video (which someone else watched, then summarized in three sentences). You select the length you want the hair to be, attach the plastic piece that does that length, and then buzz the hair off. Very simple.

For longer men's hair, and short women's hair (which is pretty much what I have), the only things you need to learn how to do are layers and how to make the bottom length's all the same. Buy small, sharp scissors, and then trim the length. After that is finished, pull out sections of hair between two adjacent fingers, and cut these pieces at a diagonal upwards, so the hair from the top most part of the section is an inch or so shorter than the bit at the bottom of the section. Repeat as much as necessary, and really, not very difficult to do, but difficult to mess up.

I have been cutting and dying my own hair for several years, and have yet to do something horrible to it, so I wouldn't be too worried if you do try and cut your own.

i do my hair myself... well, i used to just buzz my head, but then i got dreadlocks... instead of paying someone to do it, i got a friend to do it for me... saved me like $50. find a will friend...
