I have recently discovered rice cookers where you can set the time. What's the difference between these kinds and the regular kinds where you just push down a button and it pops back up when it's done?
Someone taught me how to bake this type of bread with the rice cooker, but you have to set it for 1 hour - can i do that with the regular one button rice cooker?
Thanks so much!

The regular one cooks rice just normally, it cooks by how much water you put into it and by how much rice you put in it, as well as how many times you press the button.
I know of a recipe that requires burnt rice, so the timed one, would cook that better because I could just set it higher.

So now it depends, if you want to eat just normal rice all the time, get the regular one, if you want to have something like different recipes?
Say a rice soup or a ...rice bread? Whatever, you should get the timed.
They're about the same price too, a little difference, not too much.

The push-button rice cookers are for regular white rice. The timer kind is good for others, like whole grain brown rice (which is awesome), but takes 2-3 times longer to make.

SOrry, don't know about the bread made in the rice cooker
