some fun/interesting things to talk about:
Places they've traveled (countries, states, etc.)
School (if you have any classesor teachers in common)
Other people (Gossip can be fun)
Activities (sports, hobbies, interests, etc. that they like)
The best thing to do is explore topics until you find some that you both like to discuss and that you can always talk about. Like if you both like a specific sport, you can always talk about the players, the games, etc.

I know I have the exact problem i tried looking for stuff to say on the internet but it didnt help, what u can to is play 10 questions take turns asking like 10 questions about anything and your friend has to answer honestly. It gets kinda fun hope that help I could really use 10 pts

Ask them how was their day, what did they do, talk about what's going on in the media, your opinions on different topics, and what they are going to do on a later date.

I sometimes run into this problem. I suggest that you talk about what happen today or ask them the same. You can talk about a past event.

Tell them about your day esp. if something funny or interesting happened. Be sure to ask them about their day too. You probably have favorite music, movies, etc. to talk about or what's up between you and your friends.

your servers page should help it might have news on it. Also look up jokes on the internet. tell them what you have done in your life and also ask them questions about them. Pets dislikes likes favourite things what they did during the day, on thier birthday. etc.
