Hi,
My male was lethargic for about a week and he was constipated from the aneshtesia. After the constipation he had diarhea for 2 days. I think it was hard on him.

Some cats can be lethargic for up to a week after surgery. I've had a cat be sleepy for 10 days after being spayed and one that bounced back after 3 hours, so it all depends. If you are worried about it call your vet.

It is normal for a cat to be pretty groggy and lethargic for about a day after surgery. Chances are this is within normal parameters, but this does sound a bit more lethargic than I am used to seeing in my pets after anaesthesia. When you picked her up from the vet's clinic, did they give you a number to call if there were any concerns after hours? It might be a good idea to check with the vet about her symptoms.

Yes, dont worry about it. From the anasthesia and the medicine your cat will be tired and lethargic, and this lasts usually about a week to a week and a half until your cat will be completely normal again.

Being fixed is a more serious operation in female then in male cats, and so it takes a little longer for them to get better.

Allow your cat to rest, and give her plenty of attention. After about a week, try to get her to play with you a little bit, this will help her get her energy back and get her active again, but dont overdo it, because she did just have surgery.

Hope this helps.

is she lethargic as to she is not responding to you touching her or trying to feed her or give her water? or is she just very sleepy and wants to be left alone? if she is acting like i first described i would get her to the vet IMMEDIATELY...if she is acting like the latter description i wouldnt worry at all she and her little body has been through alot so let her rest and in a few days she will be back to her normal self

This is totally normal. After my cat was fixed all he did was rest for a week. Just like a person who just got surgery-same thing.
