Depends on the loan and total aid package you received.
Most loans will give you money thru the school year during which you attend fulltime. Some, if not all, grants cut off during summer and resume during the "regular" school year. Or pay for 3 out of 4 quarters or two semesters out of 3 per year.
Many loans will continue thru summer if you attend fulltime; fultime attendance for summer tends to be 6 hrs, but some schools and/or loans may have different rules than that.
Check it out with your financial aid advisor and be certain the type of loan YOU get will do so.
And find out if any grants or other financial aid you currently get that is part of your aid package will continue or not. If it doesn't and you need to work more, get a better job or beg, borrow or steal more money for Summer term, then you'll know in advance.
Your situation may not be the same as that of the posters answering here, which is why I wouldn't trust this board to answer a question as important as this.
Call or go see a specialist in your campus financial aid office and find out for sure.

loans and grants cover ANY school expense or living expense..If you have not taken out the full loans (stafford and unstaf) for fall and spring, you will qualify for some in the summer (IF you are taking classes at least part time). If u are a single parent, there are programs thru DCFS which will pay daycare while u are in college/and or working (or both)..Congrats

If you go to school full-time (summer would be 6 hours), then you can get student loans.
