rather than telling your daughter that you don't like her friend - why not ask your daughter why she does like her friend? what is she seeing in this person that you are not? maybe you'll see a reason for the friendship when you hear her side. when you tell someone that you don't like someone , especially when they are your children, they don't listen and instead of doing something that you want them to do they pull back and instead of listening to you - they go the other way and the friend becomes the most important thing in their life. be careful on how you handle the situation and i hope your daughter can tell you a good reason of why she has this friendship.

Ask her why she is friends with the person. See her side of the story, then tell her why you don't care for her friend. Parent's usually know these things. If you think he or she is a bad influence, definately say something.

"i just dont like your friend"

my mum use to say that to me all the time. it never really stoped the friendship, but i just didnt bring the friend home when my mum was.
