Besides the fact that we don't really know anything about dinos except they had bones.... :)
I heard an explanation of the flood recently that was very different. A man told me that according to other ancient texts, the "earth" sometimes just referred to everything that one could see. At that time, travel was very limited, so as far as anyone knew, the earth didn't go on all that far. This man thought that possibly only a small area (well, in our eyes small) was flooded.
I don't know if I agree with it, but it is an interesting possibility. I do know that we can't judge ancient text by our own context. They had very different customs than we do today.
Another part of this is the theory that all the continents were one, and the plates moved them apart. In the Bible's account of the flood it says that waters came from below. That would be the appearance if God moved all the plates rapidly apart. In moving them, an area could be flooded for a time.

Were dinosaurs still alive during the flood?
When Did They Live?
Dinosaurs played a dominant role in life on earth during their age. But then they came to an end. The rock layers containing human fossils consistently occur above those layers containing dinosaur fossils. Because of this, scientists generally conclude that humans came on the earthly scene later.
In this regard the book Palaeontology, by James Scott, states: “Even the earliest species of Homo sapiens (man) lived long after the disappearance of the dinosaurs . . . After tilting (through earth movement) has been allowed for, rocks containing fossil men consistently occur above those preserving the bones of the great dinosaur reptiles and it follows that the latter belong to an earlier age than the human remains.”
In the Red Deer River valley, there is a layer of sedimentary rock that contains dinosaur bones. Just above this, there is a purplish-brown layer that follows the contour of the hillside. On top of the purplish-brown layer is a layer of brownish siltstone containing fossils of subtropical ferns, indicating a hot climate. Above this, there are several layers of coal. Farther up the hillside are coarser-grained layers of earth. There are no dinosaur bones in any of the higher layers.
The book A Vanished World: The Dinosaurs of Western Canada states that “all of the 11 major kinds of dinosaurs . . . ceased to exist in the western interior at about the same time.” This, and the fact that human bones have not been found with dinosaur bones, is why most scientists conclude that the Age of Dinosaurs ended before humans came on the scene.
However, it should be noted that there are some who say that dinosaur bones and human bones are not found together because dinosaurs did not live in areas of human habitation. Such differing views demonstrate that the fossil record does not yield its secrets so easily and that no one on earth today really knows all the answers.

Could you fly for a year?
The swimming ones did not die in the flood.
Only the flying things, crawling things, that was on the "surface" of the earth. This did not include bugs ans fishes.

Maybe they didn't. Not all of them anyway. There have been reports of sightings of such creatures up to the present day. Every now and then, one washes up on a beach somewhere. I remember when I was a kid, about 30yrs. ago, some fisherman pulled up a coelocant(?) supposedly extinct fo 70 million yrs.
Additionally, the flood caused changes in the atmosphere and oceans; i.e. temperature, pressure, density, and oxygen content.
These are possible explanations for these creatures dying off eventually as well.
All perfectly reconcilable with a Christian worldview.

There are 3 heaven and earth ages, same heaven and earth but different ages.
II Pet.3:5-7 For this they willingly are ignorant of, that by the word of God the heavens were of old, and the earth standing out of the water and in the water: 6 Whereby the world that then was, being overflowed with water, perished: 7 But the heavens and the earth, which are now, by the same word are kept in store, reserved unto fire against the day of judgment and perdition of ungodly men.
……………………………………….
THE WORLD THAT THEN WAS
Gen.1:1 In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.
To that earth age the world that then was, belongs all fossils and remains. Scientific estimates or guesses; universe or heavens 20 billion years old, earth 4.6 billion years old, moon 200 to 300 million years younger than earth, dinosaur extinction 65 million years ago, Ice Age 2.5 million years ago.
………………………………………………………………
BEING OVERFLOWED WITH WATER PERISHED
Gen.1:2 And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep.
AND THE EARTH WAS
The word “was” (hayah) in Hebrew, was not distinguished by the Revisers, that is the verb “to be” from “to become”. The same Hebrew word “hayah” is translated “became” in Gen.2:7.
AND THE EARTH BECAME
WITHOUT FORM H8414 tohu (to'-hoo) From an unused root meaning to lie waste; a desolation (of surface), that is, desert; figuratively a worthless thing; adverbially in vain: - confusion, empty place, without form, nothing, (thing of) nought, vain, vanity, waste, wilderness.
VOID H922 bohu (bo'-hoo) From an unused root (meaning to be empty); a vacuity, that is, (superficially) an undistinguishable ruin: - emptiness, void.
AND THE EARTH BECAME DESOLATE AND EMPTY
Earth was not created that way but became desolate and empty due to Satan’s rebellion. A global overflowing of water, but not Noah’s deluge. Darkness was upon the (face) of the deep, in other words the whole earth.
Into this we can read; dinosaur extinction, destruction of Atlantis, breakup of Gondwana Land, and the Ice Age.
………………………………………………………………………...
BUT THE HEAVENS AND THE EARTH WHICH ARE NOW
Gen.1:2 And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters.
Gen.1:3 And God said, Let there be light: and there was light.
About 63 A.D. Peter writes, the heavens and the earth which are now. The heaven and earth age we are in now, today.
BY THE SAME WORD ARE KEPT IN STORE
RESERVED UNTO FIRE
AGAINST THE DAY OF JUDGMENT
AND PERDITION OF UNGODLY MEN
PERDITION G684 apoleia (ap-o'-li-a) From a presumed derivative of G622; ruin or loss (physical, spiritual or eternal): - damnable (-nation), destruction, die, perdition, X perish, pernicious ways, waste.
Some will perish eternally and not see the third heaven and earth age.

Unless I missed it (which is possible), The sea dinosaurs did not die in the flood. The 'flying' dinosaurs would have needed toland at some time; so they may have 'died' during the flood.

I think the current thought from creation scientists is that the dinosaurs that did not die in the flood were done in by the tremendous climate changes brought about by the flood.
god bless

Flying dinosaurs probably couldn't keep flying when everything was submerged, they had to fall sooner or later.
Swimming dinosaurs could have been...poisoned?
Anyway, this is the first time I've heard this "theory", I thought they died because of a huge meteor :-P

there are differant times of differant Dino'saurs. the fossils speak for themselves. it was a long time before the flood for most dinos. others like saber tooth or Wolly mammoths were killed by the flood evidence found food in mammoths showing a instant death

I just want to know what happened to the ducks? God said that he mass-murdered everything(including cute little bunny rabbits) because it was all evil. Ducks would have been just fine if it flooded.. Where are all the evil ducks!!?
