After searching long and hard for a pressure-mounted walk through baby/pet gate, I finally purchased one I thought would work for a toy breed (Pomeranian). It's tubular steel made by Summer Corp. with up and down slats. As I was installing the gate this afternoon, the puppy walked right through the slats! The slats are 2.5 inches apart and her head and body are 2 inches wide. When my kids were little I had a hard plastic cross-hatch walk through gate that Fisher-Price made. They no longer make this gate. Does anyone have any good ideas for what I can put between the slats of this gate to keep the puppy in. Or of any manufacturer who makes a more secure walk through gate that a toy dog can't walk right through?

We had the diamond-shaped plastic mesh baby gate that KMart and Target carry. The puppy chewed right through the plastic mesh! Also, we're hoping to find a gate that adults can walk through w/o having to step over or constantly remove and reinstall the gate.

Neighbor has the same problem. Put up gate, go to the hardware store and get "plastic netting". It is kind of like scree, but the holes are bigger. It is plastic and fairly heavy guage. It stopps the dog from clawing through it. Use cable ties to fasten it to the gate.
It worked like a charm for them!!!!!

I have two baby gates that I bought from Kmart for under 10.00 each... they are in the actual baby section though. They are pressure mounted, and dont have slats.. they have a plastic diamond pattern all over the front of them. Your pom definately wouldnt be able to fit through them!

My mom uses the baby gates too. She buys her at DI kind of weird but they are cheap and work great and are min pin can't get over it or through. She can jump over it if she really wants to but that is just her. So if you don't mind going to deseret industries go there.

Go to your local feed store and ask about 1inch x 1 inch fencing. I use it alot with my outside enclosures.

Look on Ebay for the gate you use to have. Everything is on there.
