I think you should completely disregard the blind thing and see how you both feel about each other. I am not being judgemental or rude by saying this but I just want to make you think about it in a different way....if you go into this relationship thinking he is with you because you were the best he could get because of his 'problem' it is not going to be a very fair relationship anyway. You will always resent him thinking that you did him a favor by being there. Kind of like you will feel like you are in control of the relationship etc. When in fact every day we enter into relationship with people who are overweight, short, tall, stutter, missing a finger.....it has nothing to do with them settleing for someone because of those facts. It is because we are attracted to those people for who they are. So yes, I think if he says he likes you that he probably likes you for you.

You should give him a chance. Chances are he likes you for you. Hey, at least you don't have to worry about him checking out other girls on your date. :)
I honestly think he likes you, why not he talks to you all the time so he's bound to like you. I don't think he's just trying to get with someone. I think he's trying to get with you. Go for it.

If you like him and he asks you out...then go.
In the meantime continue to be his friend and let the relationship develop naturally. No rush.

Keep your options open. One advantage you have if this person likes you is he's attraction for you is not superficial. It goes deeper than just physical attraction. You just have to be able to accept all his shortcomings and dissability. You also have to be certain in your heart that you like him for who he is and not just sympathizing with his handicap.
