"The very concept of sin comes from the bible. Christianity offers to solve a problem of its own making! Would you be thankful to a person who cut you with a knife in order to sell you a bandage?" - Dan Barker (former preacher)
Of course bad actions do exist. Sin doesn't though.

If you don't believe in the fall of man. If you do not believe in Christ and salvation, there is no such thing as sin.
There is only a person's opinion or perception, nothing more. But in every person, regardless of whether they choose to believe in or deny God, they have within them a God given conscience and ability to perceive good and evil, so even then, we are still without excuse. This separates us from teh animals. They go by instinct and have only a 'sense" of evil, we have a free will and ability to choose to deliberately commit an act of evil or resist.
when one reads the bible, then they start to understand sin and where it originated from and the sins that people are not so certain of, or weak on, God makes that clear for our understanding and we can then choose to ignore that or take it onboard.

That is a good question. That depends on how you look at it. Some Christians say that "people sin all the time and don't even know it," that's a bunch of crap. If sin has any power over man at all, then that's taking glory away from God and telling Him that He doesn't have complete control over man. If that's what you think then there is no sin. But if you want to use the word sin to describe an un-Godly act than it does exist. It all depends on how you look at it. God has all of the glory and every breath you take and every decision you make is a gift from God.
Oh, and i didn't learn that from the religious system.

Quick answer: "not really", but this is a sort of "What's the sound of one hand clapping?" question. Is there such a thing as evil? Is there such a thing as goodness? The answer is much deeper than a single response.
Words like "sin", "evil", and "goodness" (and many MANY others) were created to describe abstract thoughts and concepts, not to name a specific thing (e.g., Brooklyn Bridge) or even type of thing (e.g., stapler). One can't quantify sin, evil, or goodness, but we can talk about it in subjective relative terms that have meaning at the moment. From a literary perspective, these things can exist. From a scientific perspective (i.e., reality), these things do not, but they can be discussed just like other abstract non-existent concepts such as heat or entropy. This thigns do not exist either, but they are convenient terms to use.

yes, Think of SIN as an acrostic for Spiritual Interference Network. Any thing in you life that gets in the way of you communing with God in the way you were designed/made to is Sin. And yes that could be Chrisitianity if you were made to be of a different faith.

Sins are rightly evaluated according to their gravity. The distinction between mortal and venial sin, already evident in Scripture, [Cf. 1 Jn 5:16-17.] became part of the tradition of the Church. It is corroborated by human experience."

I think sin does exist, in terms of an unethical action. For instance, if I drove pedestrians down with my Yugo, that would be sinning.
However, whether sin exists as some 'state' that can be toggled on and off, depending on whether you are a Christ-believer or not - that sort of sin I'm not totally sold on.

Noah Webster defined sin as "the voluntary departure of a moral agent from a known rule of rectitude or duty, prescribed by God; any voluntary transgression of the divine law, or violation of a divine command; a wicked act; iniquity."

Ponder the meaning of Justice. Not our social justice system, Just what does justice mean? How about 'forgiveness'? What is the true meaning of these ideas, words? And what does Right and Wrong apply to? Conscience? Guilt? If you do something wrong and don't know it, should you still be accountable? Are you judged by what you know or how you use your knowledge? If you do something wrong and know it's wrong, and want to recompense the offense,
how do you go about it?

That is a good question. On our own we would not know sin.
Before they only guessed at what was sin. Eve got her wish, she wanted to decide for herself what was good and bad.
So when Moses went up into the mountain and asked God what is the way to live. We want laws. He gave him the 10 Commandments. Don't lie, steal, murder, set aside time to learn about God. Don't commit adultry. Don't Covet or be materialistic. It was the first time anyone was told be careful what you think, desire. This was more than what you do it was what you want to do. Don't desire your friends wife, house, car.
