No, it can dislocate the tail of the cat. There is no known medical reason or benefit to doing it. Just because the cat didn't attack him for it doesn't mean it's ok! It's a cat, not a monkey or other creature with a prehensile tail. Its tail is used for balance and communication not as an appendage or to hang from.

it may desire to look unusual, yet a metamorphosis interior the way a cat usually consists of his tail is an considerable clue that something is incorrect. Your cat could have a broken tail (no longer likely) or he could have an abscess in his tail or someplace in his rear end. Cats have loose epidermis, so a tiny hollow interior the floor may be the hollow of an abscess numerous inches in length. He could desire to be constipated. His anal glands could desire to be plugged or abscessed. He could desire to have swallowed something he can not pass. He could have a spinal injury. Or he could desire to be feeling undesirable from another ailment that has no longer something to do along with his tail or his GI gadget, and his tail being down may well be a demonstration of feeling ill usually. the only thank you to appreciate is to take him to the vet. each now and then there are animal welfare agencies that could help hide the fee, or the vet are able to paintings out a cost plan. Ask the vets workplace. yet, nonetheless I hate to assert this, if a guy or woman can not take care of to pay for to take a puppy to the vet while it desires it, that guy or woman could re-examine the assumption of having a puppy. diverse duty comes alongside with paying for a living element.

No!!!!! Don't ever hold a cat by its tail. Think about being held upside down by a leg. Not pleasant. Well a leg is much stronger than a cat's tail. Maybe you are thinking about how kittens can be held by the scruff of their necks by their parents. But that isn't the same. Incidentally, don't ever try holding a cat by its tail. The cat will scratch and bite you viciously.

No! This is VERY bad for your cats spine, and it has no chiropractic uses in any way. You can dislocate your cats tail, which is extremely bad and painful for the cat. Remember that a cats tail is an extention of their spine, and any damage to your spine can have serious reprocusions. A cats tail is not meant to support its entire body weight, and you cat needs its tail to maintain its balance.
Your friend needs to stop doing this to their cat ASAP, and you need to Never do this to your cat. Please, for the sake of the animal do not do this and tell your friend to stop immediately.
Broken vertabrae in the tail and dislocations will require your cat to have Surgery to be repaired.

Dont hold your cat by its tail. A cats tail is a part of their spine for god sake! Its very fragile and very sensitive to them...thats horrible.. in fact I find it quite cruel.

Yes, cats just love to be suspended for long hours by their tail. If you don't have a clothes line you could use a tree limb or just nail it to the wall in your room and watch the cat enjoy itself.
