No, it's really not. In fact, it happens a lot. Ever see the movie with Keanu reeves and Sandra Bullock about the house and they live one year apart from each other? Just a question. The point is that yes, you can, no it's not weird and yes it does happen all the time.

Not at all. If you've never met him in person you don't know any of his flaws (personality, appearance, etc). You can think of him however you want to. He may or may not live up to your expectations.
