What's a cheap home remedy to get rid of an ear infection? I do not have insurance so I cannot go to the doctors, nor do I have a lod of money to pay a lot to get rid of the infection. What can I do?

I do not recommend this, but I have heard that people used to urinate in other people's ears to cure infections. I do think you should see a doctor. If you do not have a lot of money and have no insurance, you likely qualify for some sort of government funded health care. Contact your public health department and find out how to get yourself some free or reduced cost health care.

My brother and I get ear infections all the time...We were told by the ER doc to put a drop of mineral oil in our ears a few times a year i.e., like once every four months, more often if you get more infections...It softens the wax buildup, and helps your ears keep clear...This time, however, I suggest going to the ER, and see if there has been a big wax buildup...They will flush the ear/ears, and get the infected parts out...I just had this done, as I had forgotten how to keep from getting an ear infection in the first place...My brother had to remind me...I wish you luck, as the pain is no fun...
And, remember, don't use Qtips in your ears...It pushes the infected parts further in...

The only thing you need to do is take antibiotics. I would suggest that you go to a doctor, clinic or something. There is no home remedy for an ear infection.

ok the real question is how do you know you have an ear infection?
Are you running a fever
do your ears hurt
do you have a history of them

sorry but infections need antibiotiv treatment or they turn into very serious problems-systemic....
Go to the ER or find a clinic in your area asap

you dont need insurance to go to the ER. or go to a free clinic. it may be more than an ear infection, get it checked because its too close to the brain to be fooling around with.
