Depends which type of offences you're interested in. Public Order offences at pub kicking out time and post football matches. Friday and Saturdays are worst or the end of the month when people get paid. Where I work a lot of drug dealing goes on in the early hours of the morning in back streets. This is probably due to the scroats robbing drunken people after the pubs (the ones that aren't fighting) and using the cash they get after selling their stolen phones/ipods to buy the drugs about 2-4am. Shoplifting is obviously during shop hours. Domestic Violence is rife over Christmas and on Bank Holidays when families get together. I think the crime stats are very dependant on the area. I'm a police officer in the tourist centre of london and it's very quiet in the daytime. Just tourists wanting to take your photo infront of Nelsons column.

According to our neighbourhood watch rep. the early hours of the morning are when opportunist burglars prowl round trying car doors etc. Halloween, Bonfire Night & other evenings when there's a lot of noise are when burglars may try and jemmy open your shed door & you won't hear a thing. (I speak from personal experience here)

depends on the crimes.

lets say bank robbery, it has to be morning and afternoon when the bank is open.

lets say burglar, its most likely at night when everyone is asleep.

so i would say.. it depends.
