My cat is diabetic and uses the litter box a lot. I use Scoop Away and have an automatic little box. I also use Arm & Hammer Deordant for the little box. I take the little tray out every other day and throughly clean the box 1 time a week. It comes apart easily and is not hard to clean. My cat hates a dirty box and I found Scoop Away does not create any problems with the automatic litter box. Hope this helps.

I also find that Arm and Hammer works excellent. They also have a type of litter that has the same odor control and is flushable. I have 2 kittens in a 1 bedroom apartment with the litter box in my living room, and no detectable smell. They do have a second smaller litter box, but never use it. It is more expensive than run of the mill cat litters; you need probably 2 $6 boxes to last a month, but well worth it for the odor control.

i also have four cats and i use fresh step scoopable, it clumps aorund their droppings and then later you can scoop the liuter box and then wait a little longer to change the litter. It also reduces odor.

I wash my kitty litter after cleaning the droppings out. then re-use it a second time. I to have 4 cats and was tired of buying kitty litter all the time. It works great and the cats don't mind at all, they think its new.

I have 3 cats and 1 cat that will not go unless the potty box is clean. I have 2 cat boxes and use tidy cat small spaces for multiple cats. its fairly new, work good and smells good too. It clumps the best so far for me.

Catsan clumping cat litter (UK) is pretty good, makes it easier to pick up. You might want to try a dog poop scoop to get the clumps out in one piece.
