Okay so I go to the doctor the other day because of a severe sore throat and I had some weird chest pains. Well he swore it was strep but we took the test and it came back negative. So he said it was just a freak virus and it would go away. Well the next day the pains are worse so I have to go back and get tested again. It comes back negative but this time another doctor comes in and says she thinks its mono. Well she feels my spleen and all and it was fine and I wasnt feeling unusually tired or achy. I had no swollen glands and no fever. But she made me go get blood taken and tested for mono. So we get the call later that night and the test came back negative. But she also says I probably have it it just wont show up for about a week. But that was two days ago. Now I feel fine, not bothered at all. Just a bit of a hoarse voice. Could I feel fine and still have mono? I'm just worried I'll think I dont have it and get my bf sick. How long should I wait to kiss him? Thanks in advance! =]

If you are awake and typing, it probably isn't mono. My son had it and he literally was too weak to stand up in the shower for more than a few minutes. He slept night and day for over a week and burned with fever the whole time. Because my son has had mono before folks ask me this question and I usually tell them that if they are out of the house and running around, it probably isn't mono. I always answer in a similar way when folks wonder if they have a broken bone. If you have one, you know. Hope you feel better soon!

I just found out that I have mono. I think it affects people differently. I think age has a factor too. more than the sore throat. -My head hurts. I have not been vomiting but I do feel sick on my stomach. I am tired and draggy and also shaky. My blood pressure is pretty high too.
My test came back positive. Hopefully, it was just a virus and sinus problems and you are on the way to recovery..Good luck

I've had mono and had to be quarantined...If you had it you would know it!!! You would have NO energy and feel sleepy all the time (It's also know as sleeping sickness) PLUS YOU WOULD BE ACHY all OVER...Sounds like you have a sore throat and a touch of bronchitis or (walking) pneumonia

I think you'd be in a lot more pain if you had mono. You wouldn't be able to funtcion and that would be accompainted by vomiting, dizziness, and severe aches. If it doesn't go away in a few days definetly go back.

Well, I can tell you this much: You don't have mono.

If you did, you'd be in bed, asleep, moaning in pain, with a high fever... for about two months. Not to mention you'd be vomiting and sweating, too.

However, it might be something else, so, you should just make sure whatever it is, it isn't contagious.
