I don't think it's so much the muscles than it is technique. You can try to get more snap on your shots by punching at certain angles and digging down and bringing the power up from your legs and hips. But to be honest, i think punching power is more natural than it is taught. Tommy Hearns wasn't a big, muscular guy, but he had freakish power for someone with his frame. Ken Norton was built like Adonis, but he wasn't a devastating puncher like Foreman was. Power is just like hand speed, some fighters just have it naturally and some don't. But just keep trying to work on your technique and skills, and everything else will follow suit, Good Luck!

You dont need to build up your muscles to punch harder, Its techneque that makes a harder punch. If your muscles are relaxed you can get less resistance as your arm throws the fist forward creating more speed hence a harder punch.

The most underrated muscle has to be the thighs, and calf muscles. Most of the thrust behind the a punch, actually comes from stepping into it and the torque form the push of the plant foot. Also, your abdominal muscles are very important.

not a necessity to build muscle. the formula for power is speed times strength so the faster the punch the harder it is. but in boxing the punch starts from the feet and works through every muscle in the body so all your muscles should be balanced for maximum speed times maximum strength then you have maximum power.

Luck - I have landed a devistating punch and was totally unaware of it. Other times put everything into it and made them smile. Also painfully damaged my hand by knocking it against the corner of a desk I walked past (not that I am a knuckle dragged you understand)

Train bench press and work on the actual technique. Turning your hips will greatly increase punching power.

back, shoulder, tricep, forearm, legs and mid section..work on your delievery..what i mean is every punch has a motion that you should master.as you throw a jab you should step and turn you fist and forearm all at the same time, when you hook and upper cut or any other punch you should have great body movement..goodluck.
