i want that semi wavy, messy surfer look. i have really straight hair, and tried scrunching it with gel and it stayed wavy for like 5 minutes and went back to straight again. are there any good products and methods to do it?

Get sea salt mixed in a spray bottle filled with water.

I scrunch mine with moose, its alot better than gel. I also have to hairspray, or it won't stay. You could also try spraying your hair with salt water, i heard that helps it stay wavy; not sure though!
Straight hair is very hard to curl or wave, so it might take some time to do. Are you using a diffuser on your hairdryer, if not that could be why its not staying wavy. I use paintene curl defining moose, and it works great! Just use a little though.

i HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM! I scrunch, then hair spray it after i scrunch. I use moose to scrunch. (it wooks better than gel.)
I repeat until my hair is completely "scrunched".I also use a product that makes your hair look wet all day! So it looks like you just got back from surfing!
Good Luck!

Get Garnier Fructis Surfer Cream. It works! My hair is like that too. Just put it on while your hair is damp, then scrunchit while you are blowdrying it. Youcan get it at target, or drugstores.
