Statistically, yes. But those same statistics recognize the odd chances that recessive genes will show up every once in a while. Many Antioquenos have green or almost grey eyes, so the Colombian side may be showing through.

ok, here's some biology. if you understand, great. if you don't, then it's just some other statistic.
hair color and skin color(or how tanned it is) are not exactly linked when it comes to the sorting process of gene. which basically means black hair and tanned skin do not gurantee brown eyes.
eyes color genetic is complicated but i am going to water it down for you. brown eyes are always the dominant trait; which means if both of your parents have brown eyes, you have a very very high chance of getting brown eyes. it is possible that both of your parents are green eyes carrier, and you get the recessive trait. i suppose you are thinking about your lineage, that's why you are worrying about the green eye. i have to say you have nothing to worry about. your green eyes really don't say anything except "you got the recessive and a beautiful trait".
ok, so science aside. i am asian, and my uncle is asian too. (he is actually from asia, and his family is all asian, no mixed) he has hazel/green eyes. it's probably is a harmless genetic mutation.

I am Indian and I have a cousin who has Grey eyes and no one know where it came from. Both her parents are indians and her family tree is only Indians.
I also watched an episode of Maury Pourich ( I think I spelled his name wrong) where a South American couple (black hair, brown eyes and tan skin) gave birth to a blonde hair, Lily skin, blue eye baby. The father accused the mother of having an affair and his parent where mean to the baby. They got genetically tested and showed that they baby was genetically theirs.
My biology teacher has once said that the genes are all their in our bodies. I guess it God who really choses how you look like.
You personal sound beautiful. Have a Happy New Year!

Actually, the chances that you have green eyes are pretty high. Colombians have a lot of spanish blood, and many spaniards have green eyes. If your blood line had mostly recessive brown eyes, on either side,no matter how far back, it is not remarkable that you have green eyes. You must be quite striking, though, since it is not common.

Either side of your family could have given it to you or the combination there of. I've seen some dark skinned black people with royal blue eyes. Not contacts. With all the mixing of races over time there is no 100% anymore. I wouldn't worry about it. Enjoy your uniqueness. I bet the combination is beautiful. Genetics and creature some wonderful differences.

Well, it sounds like you have a really pretty mix and green is a dominant color. So by science theory it has to be some where in your past on either side and it only takes one green eyes carrier for green to come through. Embrace the suprising color, use it to your advantage!

It depends on your parents, there are hidden genes that may not be shown in their eyes, but that can possibly come out in children. Its all in chance.
