for those who are sight disadvantaged, reading all caps would be a benefit. i'd like to know who decides these rules and why they, he, she or what, use a form of censorship when communicating should be free!

Personally I don't care if someone uses caps or not. If they want to yell at me they can use punctuation marks. such as !!!!!!.
(remember punctuation?)
Lots of people find it easier to read. Some people find it rude.
Those who find it rude would probably die of shock if someone actually yelled at them face to face! lol

CAPS as shouting equivalent goes back to Usenet days. Whether we agree with the rule or not, it is still considered rude, and as shouting.
I admit that I am sometimes guilty of inserting an all caps word into a sentence just to put emphasis on the word, forgetting many see that emphasis as yelling.
Though it may seem commendable to use all caps for the sight impaired, most all operating systems have settings for those with difficulty reading small print and those people would have adjusted their setting long before getting to this site. Your all CAPS writing would be unnecessary and perhaps bothersome for the sight impaired that have adjusted their settings to enlarge print.
Regardless whether you or I like the rule of netiquette, it is the rule, and we should try to live by it!

Using all caps is 'rude' because some anal inbred said it was. Just like 'elevator music' is terrible or not wearing the IN BRAND CLOTHING is for losers. How about stupid looking clothing because the designers say it's the IN THING THIS YEAR...and next year you hide it in the back of your closet? Too many people fall for the dictates of a few. One thing I really have a laugh at are those numb-skulls and their droopy drawers with their butts hanging out. I read about a crook who got caught by the police because he couldn't keep his pants up while running away. But those pants are COOL! AHAHAHAHAHA Or white trying to talk like blacks. Whoops, got on my soap box. Oh well, it probably offends some anal person. Get over it. I'm just an old fart anyway.

Emotions are hard to detect when writing. Capitalizing seems to communicate a demanding, or yelling, nature. At least to me.
You can change the font size for sight disadvantaged persons.

everyone associates all caps with yelling. I understand your thinking. Why don't you change your font size on your pc? Then you wouldn't have to worry about people thinking you are yelling at them and you can see better what you are writing.........
