You don't say if you are male or female. The reason that I ask is that if you are male, getting chicken pox as an adult can cause sterility, I believe. Was the child ill while there? You are right to be concerned. I had a friend that was only twenty-two when he got the chicken pox and he ended up in the hospital. Good luck.....stay far away from this child until all his scabs are dried up and gone.

Stop freaking out! GOD! Your on the internet right. Try to find a site that will have some details on the symptoms on having the chicken pox. For your sake you are 33 and you are freaking out why? If you do have the symptoms, the go to the doctor the next day. Everything is going to be alright. Chicken pox is contagious, but you won't die.

No vaccines for Chicken pox. Yes he could be contagious 4 days before the rash. But it's contagious by 70%. You could be in the 30 % case. If you didn't hug him, chances are you would not contact it.

They look like blisters?? There are other skin infections.or conditions..empitigo, excema herpeticum < my son has it ) , cold sores, staph, cellu. He obviously needs to see a dr, unless he already knows he'd been exposed to chicken pox. All you can do is wait. If it's meant to happen then it will. Sorry to say it but its true. Wishing you the best.

By now, there is not much you can do but wait and see. Just take your vitamins, get some airborne, echinacea maybe, and take care of yourself. Get rest, and hopefully, you have nothing to worry about. Good luck. :)
