Hi, can anyone tell me how to curl hair properly, i can curl the sides but not the back, i use curling tons or my ghds but i find that i cant seem to get all my hair to curl and i still have whispy straight bits, I can curl my hair by scrunching with mousse but when it drys out im left with a fluffy head of curls. Any tips would be great.
As i have natually wavy hair it curls easy, but i dont want to use alot of styling products as i read some where using mousse on curly hair as curly hair is more dryer than normal it drys it out more. Please help thanks

Have you tried using a spray to keep the curls? I have really thick & straight hair and curl it almost every day, I use pantene curl scrunching spray gel, as soon as I take my hair off of the curling iron I give the hair a spray of that and it stays almost all day for me. It "locks" the curl in place. I actually just ran out of it and have been using another brand and I'm going to have to get more soon, the other brand I bought doesn't even compare. HTH!

It's better to wash and air dry your hair a few hours or a night before you want to curl it. When you wash and dry your hair and immediately try to curl it, it will not hold the curls b/c it can still have moisture in the hair. Do not put any product in your hair at that time. It will only dry your hair out when you curl it. For soft curls do not use any products. Gel and mousse dries hair out. Curl with an iron or hot rollers and LIGHTLY spray with a good hair spray. This should lock the curl in place with out making it stiff and sticky! You dont want cruchy hair!

Defo use a diffuser. Maybe the mousse you're using isn't right. Don't use conditioning mousse, extra hold is best. This stuff doesn't make your hair fluffy. If your hair is dry because it's wavy then it's gonna be dry whether you use product or not. Love the product, be at one with the product.

I'm not in any way involved in the hair care sales market, just love my products and want to help.

My hair is naturally wavy too and my godsend solution was a diffuser. Are you using one? I get out of the shower, DO NOT brush or comb through my hair (keeps the curls intact), spray it with a spray gel, then dry it with a diffuser making sure to scrunch as I go along. I try it till it's almost dry, then spray with some hairspray to set, then dry till completely dry. Then I finger comb it a bit. It works great, but admittedly works WAY better in Spring/Summer than in Fall/Winter due to the amount of moisture in the air (I live in New England).

Moose your hair up and go for the fluffy head of curls. make it too big, not frizzy. Then lightly mist it with a spray bottle and comb it a little with your fingers. Then either scrunch dry again or let it dry naturally. A fine mist spray bottle it the trick. Try using styling gel in with the water

Get yourself some sectioning clips like the hairdressers have. only curl dry hair! use your thumbs to make a section in your hair and pin the rest up. take some hair you want to curl and spray it with hairspray before you use tongs on it. spray it whilst it has the tongs on it then uncurl it. so this with each mesh of hair and section again and repeat. Hope this helps. xxx

I have this sweet curling iron by Revlon, and it's easy to get the back of your head. To curl all you have to do is start downward for a curl or upward for a flip.

Put curlers in when your hair is wet, with some sort of hair product like moisturiser or serum and leave it until it dries. I sit under a hood dryer, which works fine for my hair.

I would say, look in a mirror, put a face mirror in the back of your head, use a Pro-Select hair styler, and you can twist it on your hair so it curls and you can find it in any simon mall or Hair Salon.

Try Curls Up from FX Special Effects. It works great! You can get it at Walgreens, CVS, or Wal-Mart.
