so often i hear of christians purporting to have been miraculously healed by god! "if god hadn't made me get to the hospital in good time, i'd be dead (aka, in heaven)!" or, "thank god for the chemo and surgery, without it my cancer would have killed me (sent me to heaven)." or, "my loved one was clinically dead (in heaven) but thank god we could resucitate him and bring him back to life!"
does anyone else see the problem with christian logic? if you are going to heaven, why are you so happy that god kept you alive? i bet it's because you really don't believe there IS a heaven.
also, when will christians give the credit to the doctors who succede rather than god who didn't miraculously cure anything? if god works miracles, what's the need for the doctor? James 5:15

what i'm saying is that christians say one thing about how excited they are to get to heaven, but then another thing when they actually get the chance to go! then when the doctor fixes their malady they give god the credit, but never will they sit at home dying and praying. it is a conflict! also, to the one who says my skepticism works against me, what is that supposed to mean? i can say your blind faith is as dangerous as a suicide bomber's. skepticism never kills people, but faith does.

First, God thinks that Human life is the greatest thing God created so it is only logical that God followers by any religious name would be of the same mind. If you look in the Bible you will find that God actually prefers being on Earth as opposed to heaven. I am not trying to knock heaven. It is a great gift/reward but God thinks life here is better.
Second, most physcians will admit that the success of any treatment/medical procedure is based as much on intangible factors outside of their control as it is on the treatment or the physcians skill. Most also acknoledge the positive effects of spirituality in patient recovery.
As far as experience miracles go, I have been hit on the head wiht a pinecone in an open field with no trees within over 100 yards. I have fallen from great heights and landed safely without having to even bend my legs to absorb the impact. I have driven a car for nearly 100 miles without any gas. I have been eletrocuted to the point of glowing blue and suffered no injury. I have taken in deadly levels of poisons and toxins, recieved no medical treatment and neither died nor suffered any dammaging effects. Miracles are real.

I think you have some good insight, and worth thinking about. Remember though it is only a small portion of Christians who are into this "healing thing". Most Christians adhere to the Bible and don't seek after that sort of thing. I have sat and watched Benny Hinn just to see if there was some indisputeable healing on there and have never seen one. He calls himself a Christian, but a lot of us think he ought to be locked up for what he is doing. It is fraud.
Personally as far as heaven is concerned, i am looking forward to it. I have a terminel condition, and may not die for a couple of years yet, but I'm really looking forward to it, and I don't want anyone to "bring me back". I do give great credit to doctors and the medical profession, I wouod have died 15 years ago if not for our medical system. That would have been OK, but I have lived to see all six of my grandchildren born in the 15 years, and that is great.

It seems you are generalizing. Pre-judging people, christians.
As a christian I believe God uses people to either heal or not heal us.
I've had God heal me I know for a fact! I was laying on the bathroom floor so weak I couldn't move a muscle. Some weird virus I guess. I couldn't even get to the phone to call for help or call out for help from family. Too weak to speak. I prayed of course for help. Then I prayed, "God either allow me to die, I'm ready, or heal me." In an instant the weakness left me. I got up and I was OK.
I know you either won't believe my story or you'll think I'm mistaken but I know what I know.

What a tired cliche, calling faith blind. I've studied the bible for a decade, my faith is not blind.
I hope God can help you overcome your cynicism. There is a sweet and happy life available for you, if you would stop mocking the things of God....and be grateful to Him instead.

I believe what the bible says!
It says I can lay hands on the sick in prayer and they will be healed.
Me and a couple of my believing friends layed hands on a women with terminal cancer that had only a few months to live.
We prayed the prayer of faith and the cancer went away!
This has happened with us for Breast Cancer, Endimitriosis, Arthritis, Hemorrhoids,Broken Ankles, Lung cancer and various other infirmities!!
The Lady came back a few months later with documentation from the doctors saying that she was cancer free!!
God is "Real" and He reveals Himself to those that believe Him!
Also after crying out to God in prayer, He delivered me instantly from Drug Addiction many years ago!!
Jesus Loves You and wants to be your friend!!!
It would be wise to listen to Him!!

Exactly. Or christians who barely survive a car wreck with a drunk driver. "But if God would have had you leave 5 minutes earlier, you'd have been HOME when that assehat drunk driver hit the highway...!"

Christians are humans, and humans don't want to die. It's instinct that's been passed through eons of evolution....wait, that wasn't very Christian of me to say. ;)
