Something interesting about the old testament I think relating the new testament, is the fact that much of the stories in the bible got exaggerated over the years. as the stories were handed down it was in the best interests of the rulers at that time to inflate the truth with exaggerations; here is an example.

"The author Israel Finkelstein says Abraham, the Patriarchs, Moses, Exodus, and that the monarchies of David or Solomon were much smaller than the Bible implies.

The authors, Israel Finkelstein and Neil Asher Silberman, argue that it is impossible to say much of anything about ancient Israel until the 7th century BC, around the time of the reign of King Josiah and that the Bible might have been created at that time to further the religious reform and territorial ambitions of the Kingdom of Judah."

It is almost impossible to get a real grasp on the places or the peoples in the bible, even Jesus. The truth has been distorted too much now. All that we have is opinion, just pick the opinion that you're most comfortable with and there's your religion; no questions asked.

Many Catholic teachings are borrowed from pagan stuff...yes one is virgin birth but I assure you that Mary did not remain a virgin.

She has had sons and daughter with Joseph after Jesus' birth...there are many other teachings that has been incorporated to catholicism for paganism....(google: paganized christianity) because religious leaders wanted to convert pagans they did those things so that those people can still relate to their previous life of worship.

You are right about the falling away and yes Satan has a great role in doing that. Stick to the bible and you wont fall away.

i'm unsure it has to do the two. I grew up listening to each and every form of information. a number of them have been meant to scare me into behaving, whilst others have been meant to make me see the inherent astounding thing with reference to the international and nonetheless others have been purely magnificent little workouts. for a lot of human beings, nonetheless, the "awareness" of religious myths is distorted, and confusion or maybe enthusiast propensities effect. Oh, i could not hear your link. i contemplate whether I did something incorrect.

Um....it amazes me that so vast a number of people actually believe the stories in the bible are original. Most of them are at least based upon older stories from other cultures, if not stolen whole. In fact, there were no virgin births in actual history, only in stories. There is a reason why so few well educated people actually believe in literal truth from the bible. I'll give you a clue. It's called critical thinking.

Read Gary Greenberg's "101 Myths of the Bible" The writer believes that all or much of the Bible is based on Egyptian mythology. It's an interesting read. If you can't find the book then Google in his name and check out his website.

Trust your KJV Holy Bible, and don't believe anything you see or hear about it being false. We are living in the last days, and there will be many things to try to get you to doubt God's word. The words in the Bible are alive, and Jesus Christ is who he says he is. Be careful what you put in your mind, and most TV is bad.

Read Galatians 1:6,7,8,& 9

Study the Bible and know it inside out, because your faith is going to be tested in these last days.

The bible predicted this type of nonsense would happen in the last days:

"... for the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine...but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers telling them what they WANT to hear....and the truth shall be turned into fables.." (2Tim.4:2)

Thus another fulfilled prophecy correctly predicted by the Truth of Scripture.

How do we know that other religions weren't copying the Bible? Or that maybe they had it wrong on the TV?
