Hi there...canned pumpkin (plain not the type used for pies) or metamucil.

Canned Pumpkin: http://www.pets.ca/pettips/tips-75.htm
Metamucil: http://www.peteducation.com/article.cfm?cls=0&cat=1459&articleid=1473

Cats who have diarrhoea are dehydrated so the idea is to increase fibre which will retain the moisture in the fecal matter, which either canned pumpkin and Metamucil provides. Additionally, it would be helpful to feed canned cat food which will increase the intake of additional moisture. Baby food is fine however be certain it is the ones which doesn't contain any onion or garlic additives which are also harmful for cats as they cause Heinz Body Anemia http://www.peteducation.com/article.cfm?cls=0&articleid=1350

Consider at least ringing a 24 hour veterinary hospital to determine if your cat needs to be seen immediately. Additionally, although some of the people who are giving answers here mean well it would be wise to trust the advice of a veterinary doctor rather than any of us as some of the answers given can cause more harm than help your cat -- myself included.

[edit] Pepto Bismol contains salicylic acids which is toxic to cats. See bottom of this webpage which indicates that it is: http://maxshouse.com/Drugs_To_Avoid_in_Cats.html

I can't express this enough. Chicken Baby Food. Warm it up and the tummy should calm down. Just one jar at a time should do it. Keep the cat warm and comfortable. Perhaps keep the cat in your room with you with a litter box.

Also remember to let the kitty drink whenever it wants, diarrhea is very hard on a cat's body and it will become dehydrated. To check if it is, grab the scruff of the neck and pull up. (The scruff is the skin on the back of the neck) If the skin goes back down real slow, then the cat is dehydrated. If that's the case, make some home-made pedialyte, let it get cold and have the cat drink it instead of water.

Good luck!

sounds like your cat has conjunctivitis, try this saline solution To relieve irritation and wash viral particles from the eye, you can make a homemade saline solution. Use 1/4 teaspoon of table salt to 1 cup of water (room temperature). Three or four times a day, use a cotton ball to drizzle a small amount saline into the cat's eyes. Make the saline fresh each and every time, because bacteria could grow in the solution between treatments.

Pepto-Bismol the pink color over the counter medication for upset stomach and diarhea. Give it to the cat twice a day, depending on weight of cat, do not give over 1/2 teaspoonful. I rescued a cat 4 months ago, had bowels like water, so sick. I gave her Pepto- bismol, and dry cat food, it cleared her up within 24 hrs. Gramps is a Vet, he said it is okay. He also said it could be a sign of worms also, cat needs to see vet.

i wouldn't try to 'cure' the diarrhea:

if she has an infection with bacteria, a virus, or a parasite, it's MUCH better that she 'get it out', than keep it in!!

however, supportive care is important: offer electrolytes rather than just plain water, so she can make up for the minerals and ions that she's losing in her liquid-loss.

put Pedialyte (plain, not juice-flavors) beside her water; if she is too tired to go to the water, then offer her Pedialyte beside her 'bed'.

rice- or barley-water are good, too: COOK the grain at a moderate simmer, then press it lightly to get all the water out. U can use the cooked grain Urself; offer the cooled water to the kitty, or even pour a small amount of the grain-water over her usual food.

to improve her appetite, try warming her food in the micro: no more than 20 secs MAX, and be sure to stir it so there are -No- hot-spots to burn her tongue, throat or lips.

adding some Pedialyte to her dry-food, letting it absorb some, and then warming it to make it more fragrant, will help her to fell a bit hungry.
IF SHE STOPS EATING/is dehydrated, GO TO THE EMERGENCY vet!

to check her hydration: use Ur fingers gently, to pick up a fold of skin over her shoulders: it should slip right back down, almost instantly.
IF IT STAYS UP, in a little fold, like a tent: she's dehydrated!

Sub-Q fluids administered by a vet CAN save her - but time is of the essence!
dehydration is a life-threatening medical emergency; please Go!
hope she's better, and it's just a belly-bug...

if there is no evidence of blood in the matter (either red or very dark brown or black in colour) then the source of the problem is probably a stomach bug. Don't feed your cat milk - they may like it but like people, quite a few cats are actually lactose intolerant. While it may seem contradictory, don't feet or water your cat for a few hours. They may expell everything in their system and allow them to clear out whatever it is that's bothering them.
If there is blood in the mess, or your cat later becomes lethargic or begins to vomit, take it to a veterinary clinic or a different vet ASAP.

Please don't give your kitty the human medication listed above(pepto!)! I know from experience that you can give your cat Pedialyte or generic, preferably the non flavored. My vet recommended it when my cats were sick even after they had fluids at the office. Use a dropper or syringe and be consistent. Do a small amount(one dropper full) ever hour.

My kitten had the same problem and then she started getting blood in it and I was freakin'. I took her to the vet and they did their tests and it was from a change in food from when I took her home from the pet store. She's happy and healthy now and sinister, as all cats must be. Good luck to you.

Take your cat to an emergency vet as soon as possible. If you wait too long with diahrea, he could become severly dehydrated and, which could cause many other problems, often severe.
