birds can be finicky.. I have only ever worked with cockateils.. but I know that if I dont pay attention to ours every single day, and keep them constantly socialised, they get alienated and act scared the next time my hand comes neer them. when our female had babies, we didnt touch her for quite awhile, so when it came time that it was safe to hold her again and she was ok with being away from her babies, we just put our hand in the cage for 10 or 15 minutes at a time, right next to her.. until SHE decided to hop on our hand.. and within no time she was back to normal. Sometimes letting them take control helps their confidence

I put mine on a tall stand in the living room and put some food in the palm of my hand and rested my finger tips just below his perch. I did this before I gave him his 2nd portion of food. I turned on the TV very low or talked to my bf for a while eventually he came over and ate the food form my hand. when he starts to move on the perch you will be able to feel the vibrations from the perch. I have done it for about a month now and he eats from the hand with no problem after a few times I put the food near my thumb farther away and he hops in my hand to eat.
However I had to leave him with my bf for a week while I went away and though he use to put one foot on my finger and not be to bashful about petting he sometimes runs away now.
I've been told it just takes time.

What do u need help with?

You basically need to continue what you are doing, dont give up,

Offer it its favourite treat from your hand, maybe millet or something,

Build up a trust with it, dont rush the process take it slow,

After a while try reaching out with your finger to tickle its head/stomach,

Keep trying those two things, never grab your bird, or hold it, if it doesnt want you to you cant force it, as this will make him more determined to keep away

Quick movement is scary to a bird so be deliberate in your movements and once the bird really trust you it won't be an issue. My husband can cup his hands and approach our bird from above which is another scary movement for birds as most predators attack from above and he can pick up our bird without an issue. I can't pick up our bird I can rub him with my wrist or fingers but the minute I try to pick him up he runs away from me. Be patient and remember be slow and deliberate with your fingers and approach from the front at or below the level of your birds body. Hope this helps and Good Luck! Patience is the best thing, trust comes with time!

Is your pet hand fed or wild? If hand fed and tame try putting cheerios in the palm of your hand. Talk very softly and it should start to feel safe around you. If you fail the first time keep at it some times it takes awhile to get them to trust you. Also do this daily in a very quite spot, so the bird is not distracted.

Parakeets can really act out there emotions at times. I think your parakeet is telling you that you might not be playing with it enough. The best theing to do is not become frustrated and don't even think about giving up.If you really don't feel like playing with it
sometimes, just talk to it. I had the same problem with my parakeet so trust me on this.

Birds attack with their talons, so he's clearly petrified of palms. Have the chicken break away different birds. communicate over with him many times, softly and soothingly. save your palms away till the chicken starts off to come again over to you once you come back over to the cage. consistently communicate while changing nutrition etc while palms are needed. by no skill chase the chicken. while he looks waiting, you are able to hold a perch in front of the chicken and gently press low on his breast. he will possibly step onto it (finally). save speaking, and after some situations replace the perch with your finger. enable him chew your finger. A chicken will chew to make beneficial a perch is sweet, and in case you shrink back you will could desire to initiate over. earning his have faith will take time. it truly is possibly greater his concern of talons than your action that's the difficulty.

You have to tame it to sit on your finger. Get his wings clipped first or it'll just fly away. You have to spend time with it. Try it overe and over again. I have the same thing with my birds.
