That they dont believe in this day and age that people shouldnt use contraception . Let just say that people are going to stay single and not have sex how on earth can they justify telling people to have unprotected sex in this world that we live in that is just foolish and unethical . Agree or not ?

Well if as some of you say the catholic church is saying not sex before marriage then thats such a realistic thing to do thanks for clearing that up for me . Im sure that nor catholic has ever had an affair ever so no youre right no sex before marriage then once you are married you wont need contraception because youll both be saints as youre married and that solves everything . What about when you are married , still no protection great then loads more bloody catholic kids then . Most of the dumb answers have got to have come from catholics or complete Ignoramoooosssseeesss

By the way I think all religions are equal they are all useless . So im not just picking on catholics and their bizarre teachings . Its a legitimate Q about the religion and what they preach so I can understand the reasoning behind such a irresponsible part of their beliefs

I'm 15 and a catholic and I find this one really difficult...If you ask me now how I feel about contraception I'll say I'm pretty much against it...it stops a life that God may want to be produced. However, if you were to ask me when I'm older I will probably say I'm fine with it, simply because it will make my life more convenient. Basically...I think I'm gonna go with this view: If God wants a woman to get pregnant, he will break the condom. Nowadays it's silly to be against it really, no one would be able to live their lives as they want to, they'd have far too many kids - who they wouldn't be able to look after, and God wouldn't want that.

The Catholic religion is true for the Catholics. Isn't that good enough? Of course some people within the church don't agree with all the teachings--that's how changes such as Vatican II came about. There's a group of people within every religion that don't follow all it's teachings--I know a lot of Christians who have sex before marriage, for example. Every group of religious people is first a group of people, and then that religion, so there will be variety... and thank heavens.

It is not so much that they don't believe in contraception, but the bellief of no sex before marriage. Yes, you do have a good point of view, but according to the bible man and woman were not created to be alone. As far as telling people to have unprotected sex, I really don't think that is the message they are sending. If you are a true believer and devote your life to the practice of Catholisism, you would not have a paroblem with this matter because it is something you believe in. I believe if you do some research you may be able to find some articles on the religion becoming a bit more understandable on this matter.

As bellatrix said it, people can't live the life THEY WANT. Nothing was said about living the life they SHOULD.
If people that claim to be Christian and BELIEVE in ALL the teachings of the Scriptures, lived the life they SHOULD they would believe that sex should wait for marriage. If they did then they wouldn't have to worry about STD's, contraception, or UNWANTED pregnancies.
Oh and I am not Catholic.

Most world religions hold similar views on sex. The Catholic Church is about much more than that look at issues relating to poverty and justice. It is about living the Mass and being the body of Christ on earth.

I feel it is foolish to have unprotected sex, especially with the added risk of STD's on top of the risk of unwanted pregnancies, which lead to teenagers with children, claiming benefits etc. It is a rediculous rule which really should be ignored for the sake of the health!!!

you should think about all the proper religions in the world and forget about all the new ones, christianity judism islam, every thing was put on this planet to procreate but not to the point where one species takes over all the overs with their beleifs and murderous intents, they must be a balance by mother nature so that we can all co-exist, it just means that man is on top of the food chain but we should be able to cull our own species in the way that we do others .if contraception is the best way to do this then so be it

You're setting up a straw man fallacy. They are not telling people to have unprotected sex, they are telling people that, since they are not supposed to be having sex before marriage, they cannot condone contraception. The timeline goes like this:
dating - abstinence - no birth control required - no abortion - no STDs
marriage - sex and no birth control - whatever you conceive, you keep

The Catholic Church is a false church.
95 percent of what it teaches is not even found in the Bible.
