Some people are unable to have babies therefore they adopt instead. It can be a health hazard for some women to get pregnant, put too much stress on their bodies.
Also there might be a medical condition or something that runs in the family & that if that condition is passed on can add to the stress of the childs & family life so adoption is an alternative

Some people cant have children on their own for medical or other reasons.
Some people think there are already too many babies in the world without parents so they adopt these children instead of having their own.

Do have any clue what so ever how many foster kids and orphaned kids there are out there?!! Thank go for those people who adopt and give those children a loving family. Some people simply can not due to medical issues have children on their own and choose to adopt. Yet still some just choose to adopt only. Its a personal choice.

Some couples find out that they can't conceive and choose to adopt to extend their family. Other times they may be worried about genetic disorders that run in their family or possilby having a child with mental retardation if they are approaching 40. I've heard of some women who fear being pregnant and experiencing child birth so they choose to adopt. We, Americans, are lucky that we have access to birth control, where some countries don't, resulting in unwanted pregnancies and neglected children. There are over 150,000 neglected orphan children in the Ukraine for example. I've had 2 girls, but if I decide to extend my family, I would really like to adopt.

Pregnancy is not always an option for some women, medical reason's prevent it. Adopting is almost impossible by the time you find out you can' t have children of your own. When people adopt its because they have a lot of love to give a baby and are very lucky to be chosen to be a family.

Because it's selfish to make your own when there are so many children starving and dying everywhere in the world. It's like ignoring the problem and sometimes making it worse. I will never have biological children.

because some people cant have there own babies and the ones who can proply dont wanna go throw the pain and some just think sorry for the kids with no mum n dad

I believe it is because they do not want to go through the 9 months and the pain of having a baby. They are afraid to mess up their bodies. My opinion

Some people CAN'T have children for medical reasons. Other's want to "give back" and offer a home to a child who doesn't have a family.
