here is the deal. i went out of town to a doctor. i went ahead and had my prescription filled at the nearet pharmacy. i told the pharmacist that i had just taken an antibiotic prior to the one being filled. he stated yeah i see that, and proceeded to tell me that it was an alltogether different medicine that would be effective for my sinus infection. how did he know that?? and is all of my history of prescription available to all pharmacist?

are all patient prescriptions available for every pharmacist to view? or is it just valumart can view valumart??

if it is at the same Pharmacy chain i.e. Walgreen's, Rite-Aid, then they do see everything you have had filled, as well as your allergies, insurance information, and 'notes'. Which is why you should pick a Pharmacy and stick with it.

If you go to the same chain, but different store, yes you can see all the prescriptions a patient has filled.
