Hey,
Finchs lay 3-8 eggs once they have finshed laying then they will start incubating them, which is what yours are doing now so i dont think she will lay anymore...
The eggs should start hatching about 14 days after they start sitting. So keep count If after 20 days nothing hatches, remove the eggs for they apparently are not fertile. She will start laying again soon. You do not need to empty the nesting material, just the eggs,
Do-not handle the eggs what so ever, as they'll break them,
At 21 days old they fledge (leave the nest)
At 4 weeks old they start to eat on their own
At 5-6 weeks old the adult colors will start to develop
Att 5-6 weeks old move the chicks to their own cage
Goodluck with your new additions

Make sure you keep the breeding area at a reasonable warm room temperature.. if the cage/aviary is outdoors, put in a warm bulb or something near the breeeding area to keep the birds and egg warm.
No matter what you do, DO NOT touch the eggs or the chicks with your hands when they hatch or the parents will kill/eat them.
If the eggs/chicks die, don't worry there'll probably be plenty more eggs =)

One time I had two birds and one of them laid eggs and then the next thing i know the other one laid eggs. Females will lay unfertile eggs from time to time. If they don't hatch after a few weeks slowly take them out one at a time. If you take them all out at once the bird will go chaotic and just lay eggs for no reason.

Watch out because they may be unfertilized eggs. Do you have two females? Better ask because it is sometimes hard to differentiate between a male and female birds except by color and behavior.
Need to read up on the Finch to sure about what is happening with them.
Hope for chicks!

My daughter had canaries that surprised us w. eggs one year, they took turns sitting but only one hatched, it didn't live I think the birds were brother and sister so maybe shouldn't have been breeding. Breeders say some birds will overcome all obstacles, others are flighty and unfit parents, depends on the individuals.

They will hatch if they are fertile. But they need to be incubated. You can get little wicker finch nests at a good pet store. Or you can buy a little incubator (relatively inexpensive) and incubate the yourself. Have fun.

More than likely they will, and they will keep reproducing unless you remove the nesting from the cage. I bought 2 finches once and ended up with 14 or so. Lovely little birdies, aren't they?

Your vet gave you the incorrect suggestion!!!! your fowl will lay as a lot as 6 eggs and could commence to brood them even as she has laid an complete grab. this is going to take 14-16 days for them to hatch!! do not upload multi drops to their water .those might want to be deadly.if given incorrectly and your fowl do not desire them. you want to soak a number of their seed in warmth water in one day , drain ,rinse ,position some the position warmth till eventually it sprouts (2-3 day) and feed this a.s.a.p. good by till eventually any youthful are feeding themselves. Having bred quite various Zebra's it truly is the ultimate food for them and their youthful.
