I do feel sorry for him - I couldn't even watch the video and I don't want to see pictures. It doesn't seem right. The US went into Iraq to find WMDs against UN wishes - didn't find them or any connection between Iraq and 9/11 (even Hussein wanted to take out bin Laden) and now it seems the US has executed him for the treatment of people involved in an assasination attempt 25 years ago. It feels wrong to me - it feels like something personal between Bush and Hussein and I don't think it looks good on America's record.
Peace!
Later...
While we are talking about sympathy for people who have been murdered - many, many more Iraqis were displace, harmed and killed during this war than Saddam killed in 1982 (and perhaps his whole regime). If that is the criteria for trial and hanging, does the world get to participate in a Bush trial. This entire war has caused huge casualties on all sides and has nearly left the US vulnerable to any action Korea or Iran might do. I think that Bush is far more dangerous to the world than Hussein was, in my opinion.

I feel sorry that he wasn't tortured daily since he was captured, and left to die in his own filth after as many years of it as he could endure. Even then it wouldn't begin to equal the suffering he caused others to experience.
Saddam Hussein was unmistakably guilty of repeated monstrous crimes against humanity and his own people. In a case like his, endless, excruciating torture is not only justified but morally demanded. "An eye for an eye and then some" is what should apply in cases like his - which are rare but do exist. The names Hitler, Stalin, Amin and Bush come to mind...
PS: Angel, how arrogant can you be to assume that anyone "without christ" is capable of behaving like Saddam? Bush is a christian and has caused at least as many people to die as Saddam, and Bush is only one in a long line of crusading christians gleefully murdering "unbelievers" just because they were unbelievers. Sort of like islamic radicals today, isn't it? You can't tell the killers without a scorecard any more!

Yeah, I feel sorry for the guy, it would have been better if he turned his life around and have not done the things he did..
And yes he was an evil man driven by Satan and did hurt lot of his people..
If he didn't do all those things, he would be alive today.. I wished he had more love and compassion for his people, and made an effort in making it each life for those that got killed.. Men,Women and Kids, they got murdered by him..
I don't wished him to be killed, but at the same time, he did to face his own fate.. The way it sees fitting..

I think justice was done. I feel sorry for the fact that man can become so evil in the first place. So many innocent people died because of his brutal ways. We should not take joy in this situation, because it shows us just how evil we can be, without Christ.

no I didnt he never did accept his faith. he has done so many things in the name of islam that islamics look down on ( transcribing the Koran in blood) mostly in a half hearted attempt to make himself look better that it was no big loss to humanity or spirituality.
hopefuly he uday and qusay are geting some well deserved payback in hell together
