cannot down load itunes.- message reads:-an error occured opening directive?

when i down load itunes the program will not open the things i have tried:- turning comp. off, removing ituns and related files, re installing.when i click on ituns icon same message error report contact micrsoft? can anyone help thanks

Make sure you don't have quick time installed
