Pound cake or angel food cake should both work well.

Substitute For Ladyfingers

I make a raspberry tiramisu and I can never find Ladyfingers so what I have done is bought slices of flavored pound cake. They hold up just as nicely as the Ladyfingers and add a wonderful flavor to the dessert.

i almost gave up when making tiramisu one time cuz i couldnt seem to find ladyfingers anywhere, but then when i asked a friend who i know has made tiramisu in the past, she said she found ladyfingers at the Brown Derby International Wine Center, which totally seemed strange to me, but they were there. I dont know if you have one of those there or not, but if you do, try going there. I dont know if they carry them at alll Brown Derby stores or just the international wine centers. Also, they sell the mascarpone cheese there, which my local supermarket doesnt carry either.

Sponge cake cut into similar sized slices.

A friend of mine had her personal variation on tiramisu. She used Maryland cookies. That was delicious too.

It probably would turn out alright if you use sponge cake or pound cake, they would both soak up the liquid fairly well. I think the flavor of the angel food cake would work, but I don't think the cake would soak up the coffee/liqueur as well.

Yes, Twinkies would probably work, too.
