We used to have a sweet female kitty, who beat up the neighbor's German Shepherd so often, they would knock on our door and complain. Poor thing was just defending herself.

I know those sweet little felines can turn into catzilla when they want.

it's not unheard of, but I don't let my kitty outside, so no, I've never had a cat beat up a dog. Good friends of mine had a cat and two dogs and the cat was the alpha in the animal ranking. Even against a lab. Just try to keep your kitty away from the dog as she may actually be instigating the fights.

I went to knock on my friends door one day with my dog. Her cat came outside and beat my dog up. My dog wasnt that beat up, just some scratches on her belly.
Where as me and my friend have permanent scars from trying to get her cat off my dog.

No, but I used to have a tom cat that would constantly get in fights with gophers in our backyard. He would come up to our back door all beat up and tore up, fur sticking out in all directions from being in a fight with a gopher. He would lay around for a day or two nursing his wounds, and then go right back out and get in another fight with a gopher again. He never seemed to learn his lesson.
