The Bush Administration is trying to create the North American Union along with his Canadian and Mexican counterparts. This would mean an end to your rights as defined in the Bill of Rights. The whole story can be found at www.thenewamerican.com.
He is also trying to create the NAFTA Super Highway. a road that begins in Mexico, goes through the US and into Canada. And then there is the SPP (Security and Prosperity Perimeter). This would create a border around the three countries, virtually eliminating the borders between Canada and the US, and Mexico and the US.

I wonder where he got this as it is not even on the table. Canada is part of the British Commonwealth and America has a certain relationship with England. So all is well on that front. But the immigration issue is predicted and heating up like never before in the next round of elections....... no politician is going to even think about signing off on merging Mexico with the US. No offence, he might be a great guy but I think your husband is suffering from the limited amount of information on TV and wishfull thinking. He should read more and ground himself in history.

I hope not. I think it's just another thing to compete with the EU which is a powerful economic block and there's us. And merging Canada's and Mexico's economy with ours is like putting on two anchors, Mexico's especially.

That will never ever happen. No worries, Canada will never follow that dark path. We like our gun control, health care and education too much to merge. The last thing we would want is any assimilation with the US, we are not hated and we would like to keep it that way. Besides according to the UN, WHO and UNESCO we have a better quality of life and why on earth would we want to change that.

Its an idea to make us into a kind of EU. I think its a bad plan, worse than NAFTA, even, but I'm kind of for it if it ticks off Canadians.
It seems the the Dems want us to be Mexico and the Reps want us to be Europe. Who will represent Americans?
