At this time there has been no well known effect of MRI on a developing fetus. But, it is usually suggested that if the problem is serious enough, go ahead and do the MRI, if it isn't then you would be best to wait. Your doctor should know this though.

According to the National Instutite of Health, the effects of an MRI on a human fetus are unknown, but tests on animals show some delays in development.

You should sit down with your doctor and ask any questions that you have about the test and he/she will let you know all the risk and then you will feel better making a decision. If it helps my sister-in-law had 2 done while pregnant along with dozens of test and she now has a very healthy little boy who will soon be two.
Best of Luck!!!!

NO, MRI's are less invasive than x-rays. MRI's does not damage developing tissues; whereas x-rays do. So, you will be fine.

Ask you dr. if it will hurt your baby. If you don't like the answer or still feel uncomfortable about it, get a 2nd oppinion.
