A while back a buddy of mine got food-poisoning. His body rejected any food or drink that he attempted to swallow.
He did a little research and found a website of home-remedies that looked helpful. He tried thier suggestion. It worked.
The remedy is this : Take one16-20 oz bottle of water and add one teaspoon of sugar and one teaspoon of salt. (don't worry, it doesn't taste bad at all.)
The sodium will help your body to absorb the water more quickly (as is one of the chemical properties of sodium in the human body) and the sugar will give the water more calories for your body to burn (that and it keeps you from having to drink straight-up salt-water which is foul and unhealthy)
Even with severe food poisoning my friend stayed hydrated using this method and was feeling better less than 24 hours later.

Call your doctor, that sounds really important. But if the doctor says to stay home and wait it out, you may want to try a warm bath. You'll take some water in through your skin.
I would make sure that the water you are sipping is close to your body temp, not cold. And perhaps you need a little more in your system besides water. Ask the doctor about all of this.

If you can't drink enough to stay hydrated, you will have to go to a doctor or hospital. They'll be able to give you IV liquids and keep your electrolytes in balance and they may be able to also give you something to help with the nausea/vomiting so you'll be able to at least drink water. You can try FLAT ginger ale for now to see if you can keep that down on your own. Ginger is well-known for helping with nausea.

It’s very important to stay hydrated. If you can’t drink water without getting sick try something carbonated like Sprite or ginger ale. Another thing to try is to pour a splash of 7UP in your water. The taste of the soda helps to get the water down without it being totally empty sugar calories. No matter what, try to avoid caffeinated beverages.
