Of course assuming that no other ambulance or firetruck pulls out behind it. I only ask cause today i was lucky enough to be the next vehicle behind the thing and of course i screened the firestation seeing if anything else was gonna pull out, or if any other emergency vehicle was coming behind me, or any direction for that matter.

Only if you're a lawyer that needs work.

(Yes, as long as you go the speed limit and don't run red lights).

The ambos are aware of the rules and that they must abide by them. If they are using their lights and sirens they are warning other road users that a speeding vehicle is coming and to get out of the way. If they are not in an emergency and are not using lights and sirens then they have to obey the road rules like anyone else. If an ambulance is being used on a low priority call but the nature of the call changes so that it becomes an emergency, on with the lights and sirens and they are OK. The ambos know this and if they speed when it is not an emergency then they must expect to be fined.

If you continue doing the speed limit and obeying all traffic laws..Yes its OK. But you obviously cant drive behind an ambulance as an excuse to drive like a maniac.

Why would you want to? As long as you aren't closer than 300 feet, and obeying all traffic laws, and happen to be going the same direction it probably wouldn't hurt. If it's obvious you are following them, they will probably get on their radio and you will find yourself pulled over and questioned regarding your intentions in following the ambulance.

Eh, if you're thinkin along the lines of following the break in traffic it makes, then no. Yer supposed to pull off let it pass, then resume driving along with and in the same order as all other traffic. lol. Says it's so to prevent chaos with folks jockeying for advantage, but added benefit is to prevent fistfights with outraged motorists.

As long as they are not exceeding the speed limit or going through red lights there is no law against you following.

In CA. you're supposed to stay 300 feet in back of it. You can get a ticket for "following it".

so long as you aren't tailgating them it's okay. being an EMT you find a lot of cars and/or trucks going behind you. Or if you're on the interstate, passing you.

NO! What are you thinking it's because of this type of thinking that the ambulance is probably needing to respond
