i think they do, but if they dont have anyone to care for like a daughter usband/wife or any other relative they usually turn to thier animals though dogs are more affectionate, cats are clamer and easier to take care of. though the people ur talking about... i agree....they need to wake up and smell the coffee

I believe that everyone has their own opion but some opinons you should just keep to yourself. If people don't want kids and have cats to take their place then fine why should you put them down for that? I have children and cats and love them both, no I don't have the little box in the kitchen but so what if I did as long as it stays clean. Some people think that cats should not get on the counters and some think that it is ok. Just because someone does something dosen't mean you have to do it.

Not all of us that love our cats as much as kids are all "out there" as you put it. My cats have three litter boxes, all of them away from food prep areas such as the kitchen or dining room. Yes, I spoil my cats rotten and they even have an entire room that is pretty much all theirs filled with cat furniture and toys galore - but I know that my opinion is not always the best.

But when I do know things from having faced something with my cat - I take a stand and try to help where I can. If you choose to follow someone that speaks up and says a one-word answer or even a one-sentence reply, that's your fault. Those of us that care for our animals often time take plenty of time doing research to make sure we give them all the best we can for long and happy lives.

And yes - I also volunteer for two different rescue organizations devoted to pets in my area. Call me a bit weird, but I believe in helping the ones that cannot help themselves.

As much as I agree, I still think it would be hella cool to have little ramps all over my house for the cat to walk along the ceiling and have the bird's eye view of her domain. That being said, cats are more precious to people than humans because cats don't care what you did at work today or that you feel fat or that he doesn't love you as much as you love him. Cats love you because you are their human whether they chose you or you chose them. Some people can get a little carried away with their expressions of love back to the cat, but it's their life. And if it makes them happy and doesn't harm the animal, who are we to deny a little bit of happiness, especially since it's rarer and rarer to come by these days.

Why are you so worried about other people? Maybe they can't have children. Maybe they're mentally disturbed (like cat collectors...the ones with dead cats around the house and hundreds of other live but usually sick ones and lots of nastiness surrounding them). I think for one, you're waaaay too concerned about how other people choose to live their lives. Secondly, litter in the kitchen is gross, but maybe they have no other place to put it. Again, why are YOU worried? Is it in your house? Then who cares?

I have 12 cats. They have all been rescued. I have 5 boxes in closed off areas which are cleaned twice daily. You can't smell cat in my house because I don't let it funk up like some people do. I'm planning my family to start next year. So not all of us "cat folks" are nuts...sometimes we're very caring people who wish to share their lives with other species. Before you judge people, why don't you try to walk in their shoes first?

Hahaha.....this made me laugh. I agree that some people are over the top, but it can apply to almost anything not just a love of cats. Maybe it is a form of Obsessive Compulsive Disorder. You never know.

God, we're no as bad as dog lovers (I think ?;-).

You know, those people who buy designer clothes for their little yapping annoying chihuahuas ? And bring them everywhere they go, even though other people find them annoying (not to mention that they crap on my carpet !)

And I know a few people who speak more of their dogs than of their children (yes, they do have children).

Pray you never meet one of my cats in a dark alley!

P.S. I don't care for children at all.
