Everybody does have a choice, Anybody can be any religion or non religion they choose. I am New Age/ Pagan, because that is what I believe and choose to be.

Let me give you a real answer. First of all, religion is man's attempt to get to know G-d. There are many denominations of essentially one religion (being that it is a theistic religion), but that in and of itself is not really the answer. What is vitally important is whether or not you get G-d. Meaning, do you relate to Him. How does that happen. First of all, ask Jesus into your heart and really become a child of His. Read His word and pray. His word is His communication to you and your prayer and worship is your communication with Him. What I'm talking about is a relationship with G-d through the power of His Holy Spirit and the death of Christ on the cross. Spiritual fellowship with other believers then is really next most important. This then is where the denominations essentially come in. A bible believing, spirit filled church (full gospel/Pentecostal) is really the best, however, if your family was Roman Catholic, Lutheran or such then a Baptist or Assembly of G-d congregation would be better. I know that this is a lot, however it goes to the heart of the matter and is what, after 38 years of practice in the faith, I've come to know and understand.

If I'd wanted to be of any religion in the world, I would just go for it. The thing is I don't like any religions. I don't need religion to be happy or to hold on to something.
