My husband has been awarded parole in October of 2006. He is currently in Texas and is waiting for an interstate transfer. I would like to know if there is something that i could do to maybe hurry things along. Is there someone I could possible call or write? This is our first time in a situation like this and we are both clueless about what to do. I would like to thank every one in advance for any and all replies. Thank you.

Interstate Compact is a mess. What is supposed to happen is often not what does happen. The officer in the sending state, Texas, in your case, is supposed to request the transfer via your state's Interstate Compact office in Austin. This is sent to the ISC office in the receiving state, and they are "supposed" to investigtate the request and reply. The problem is that most states have all the felons they need, and are, therefore, reluctant to accept anymore. There are a lot of places for this process to break down, and it often does.
Suggestions: 1. You might phone your local parole office and ask if the transfer request has been received. Tell them that you are willing to have the parolee live with you, and that you will help ensure that he stays out of trouble.
2. Many states have, or are seeking accreditation of their probation/parole agencies. As a part of that, they are required to have a grievance policy, under which the probationer/parolee, has the right to complain to a local office manager. In this case that would be the supervisor of the institutional parole officer in the prison where your husband is being held.
Short version - make yourself heard. A man who could have paroled 3 months ago, ought to be out by now.

assuming that you mean moving to another state,by using the term "interstate transfer".the other state has to verify all the arrangements such as living quarters, possible employment, other criminal matters that may still be pending,etc... also the other state does not have to accept a new parolee from another state.also in some states sex offenders can be committed after serving their prison sentence, for the safety of the community, habitual offender status, and the like.not knowing the history of this situation I would suggest that you call or write to the director of prisons in your state currently and/or the warden at the prison and ask politely what is the hold up and is there something you can do,Don't piss'em off,you need their help

I know in our State (NY) alot of times inmates are held back from their parole dates because of a) loss of good time (time they accumilate while in prision if they are good boys or girls while in prison) b) if an inmate is in poor health, this can delay his/her release date.c) They need to be able to show a proof of residence and the ability to get a job before release. You should probably speak with an attorney (preferably not the one your husband used initially)

Write or go to see the Parole Board and ask them. Show how he's changed his ways.

the first question is is he fat? If so u r in big trubble becuz they like poking the fat ones with sporks. Or they dress him up as a little whore and they drug him and go clubbing. If hes skinny then they are feeding him pure fat. if he is inbetween then u should look for a new husband or a package of pork rinds. U know why? Because they are making him play grand theft auto 25 hours a day. Welocme to the twilight zone motha foka
