To mr Oldfootlose who asks me to pack and go back to school because i know nothing about Buddhism, just want to let you know that I AM A BUDDHIST LIVING IN AN EASTERN COUNTRY.

I just want to know whether or not i'm an atheist.... in western context since i follow Lord Buddha's teachings and i see him as a Teacher more than i see him as a Creator God.

Wouldn't ghost be hard to believe in if you did not believe in the soul or spiritual form, which by definition comes from a diety. They may believe in leftover energy that can be interpreted as ghosts.

How could Buddhism possibly be Atheisim, they believe in a divine force and power in the universe Atheist don't.

What people think of as Buddhist Atheists are really secular humanist who follow an eastern philophy, not actual Buddhism per se.

The definition of Atheism afterall to have no belief in a higher power or any deities. Buddha himself is a deity.

Peace and every blessing!

It is incompatible for an atheist not to believe in God and to believe in ghosts. I have not seen a ghost, but if there is such a thing as a ghost it has to be a spiritual being. God is a spiritual being. Where do ghosts come from then except from a dead person. Who gave that person this spirit? There lies the incompatibility.

Buddhism can be but it depends on the type. There are different kinds.

As an atheist, I dont personally believe in ghosts. Some atheists might, but I dont.

This atheist does not believe in ghosts.
Some practices of Buddhism contain no theistic proposals whatsoever. These variations are more of a general ethical, existential, approach to "spirituality."

Some atheist, like myself, believe in energy, because energy is not destroyed, so it has to go somewhere when you die. The manifestation of energy is usually mistaken as ghosts. So yes, we believe in ghosts, just not your average type.

Buddhism is a form of atheism, because they don't believe in a god, or a superior entity.

I don't believe in Ghosts! LOL! how ridiculous, but I can't speak for other atheists,
maybe they just don't believe in the bullcrap story about Jesus.

..........and I dont' think Buddhists believe in a white bearded man sitting on a cloud concept of God, but that doesn't mean squat, they are still one of the oldest organized religions on earth. I think you can get far more spiritual, and more makes sense than what Christianity would have you swallow.

First question: sure, i might date someone who believes in God. One shouldn't decide the favorite of a woman with the aid of her faith! a million. Physics? How can everybody have self assurance in physics, it is merely math theories and explains the mechanics of nature. yet useful, i might date a geeky woman that knows physics. 2. in step with threat merely to be sure the way it will play out. yet i will on no account land up marrying her. 3. comparable subject as question #2. 4. useful. yet we will probable finally end up having a heated debate (i'm a skeptic) 5. er, confer with #2 and 3.

I consider Buddhism a false religion.

Ghosts are demons that people see. Demons are real. But demons tremble at the name of JESUS, so I guess that makes Him more POWERFUL.

I choose to follow Him.
