It does work for me.

Only to Allah though. I wasn't very religious when I was a teenager, still not very religious. I am 22 now and realised I don't have a purpose or meaning in life. I was always bored (still am). Then I realised that the only thing that would stop me from going completely insane would be reading prayers to Allah. It has made me much better as a person, I don't wear a scarf on my head which is required in my religion (not a veil which is not required in the Quran) you don't have to go all out and get really religious. If it makes you feel better do it. Although I always have the same philosophy in life. If I was meant to do this it would happen. If this was meant to happen to me it would happen anyway. I take risks always thinking if I was meant to die today it would happen anyway. If I didn't get killed by a car which was part of my fate and then didn't go out of the house because of this then a tree will fall on the house and I 'm dead anyway! It will happen either way, but I think you can also tempt it if you do this.

I had a medical problem with my throat which I had had for a very long time. I prayed for it to go away. A week later I was shocked as hell when it completely went away. It didn't go away naturally I had had it for years, it was natural for me to always have to clear my throat so much, it went away.

Then I got excited and asked for all sorts of things!!

Also I really wanted to get into contact with someone I really liked (still waiting on that one!) Don't think it will happen because it will cause a lot of trouble because he is white Italian i think and I am a Muslim!!)

I keep a diary or sometimes I just write on the edge of a page in my Bible. I find time and time again where God definitely answered prayer. Things work out in such a way there's no other explanation for it than answer to prayer. Sometimes He doesn't say yes right away, but if He wants to teach me patience that's alright too. Sometimes He is increasing fellowship by not giving what I think I should have right away. Sometimes He gives me something much better if I just wait.

Mankind would have not reached the present civilization without praying.
It is by bowing down before the Divine Educators like Christ, Buddha, Baha'u'llah...to seek divine guidance that man advances in spirituality and becomes more and more mature. If we blindly raise wars against each other as in previous centuries, then the destruction of the world is inevitable. But, the mature mankind, through the UN and other agencies, are doing our best to prevent war, armement, pollution, disease, poverty...
Yes, prayer is no longer childish wish for individual benefits, but it is mature acceptance of divine guidance for the advancement of all humanity.
Therefore, I pray continuously and I firmly believe in its effect.

i think it does.some would say that it is because god has heard and answered you but i don't know that for sure. all i know is that when i pray very hard during trying times i always seem to feel better and i can see an end to my sadness.is it because i was heard or was it the act of praying itself that made me feel better? i don't know. but who am i to decide? i am only a small bit of matter in a great big universe. there are christians out there that would call this blasphemous, but thats okay. i do what i need to do to get by in this world without harming others.sorry, i'm rambling.

Obviously there's different opinions on this subject. The correct answer is that prayer is a placebo. It's been known for centuries that if someone thinks a dose of medicine will help them they will report feeling better after they take it. The medicine could be worthless and have no long term effect but short term some people will swear that it helped them. Prayer works the same way.

I don't know what studies have concluded but I do know that prayer works. We that pray can give you sample after sample of prayers with results, although they don't always come in the way we expect. You should know however that if you pray, you have to pray in faith, believing that you will receive the answer.

Pray without ceasing 1 Thesalonians 5:17. It does work if its not working for you then maybe add faith to your prayers or could it be aiding faith with prayers. It works 'if you are born again' His answer is yes and amen, in His own time and your predestined season of receiving.

Yes, I always find that when i say a prayer, it always gets answered. It always helps me, if I'm down, need something or want to wish another well, I'll pray and normally find that what I've asked fo happens :-)

Depends hpw deeply you believe.

I was on the brink of taking a serious amount of pills with a bottle of vodka. I just sat on the floor and asked for some help.

For some reason, I felt motivated to get up and read my favourite chapter in the bible.

My prayer was answered. And I am very very grateful for that help.

prayer works if what you ask for, is good for you, and you are deserving, also you have to have the faith to believe it will work, some times one dosent always feel that great and it can effect your strength of faith but thats when you need to pray the most. i fear some might not know the steps to take so i shall write them
step one;;recognise his greatness and tell him so, step two;;recognise your lowness and vunerability in your sin and tell thim such.Third , ask what you want to ask, and wait for an answer, might take a while, the most common way is you feel the answer in your breast its a warm sensation, but there are many outher ways.thank him for giving you time in jesus name
it works, if it does not work, analise the situation because it will be you not god.
