I am trying to make an authentic Mojito. But I am unable to get to Havana. For reasons of course. Could someone help me out.

Mojito recipe

3 fresh mint sprigs
2 tsp sugar
3 tbsp fresh lime juice
1 1/2 oz light rum
club soda

In a tall thin glass, crush part of the mint with a fork to coat the inside. Add the sugar and lime juice and stir thoroughly. Top with ice. Add rum and mix. Top off with *chilled* club soda (or seltzer). Add a lemon slice and the remaining mint, and serve.

I used to work at a restaurant that made the best authentic mojitos... I am salivating now. Add about 5-7 mint leaves, 2-3 slices of lime and about 2-3 tablespoons of sugar in the bottom of a tall glass. Then you need to mull it, which means crush it all up with a pestle. You can use any blunt object. You really just want to mix the sugar with the lime juice and mince the mint. Then, you add Bacardi rum and top it off with club soda. Yummy!

Just type in your B-day so they know you are legal.

A Mojito is a drink classified in the Muddler Family. This means to make it properly, you need to grind the ingredients together, then blend with the alcohol content.

In a Rock glass, crush together a couple wedges of lemons,1 tsp of sugar, a few mint leaves and a dash of bitters. When everything is mashed together pour in 1 oz of Rum. Stir and enjoy.

My recipe is pretty simple, but it's made a helluva name for itself at Siam Restaurant in Telluride.

In a tin (shaker), put a good scoop of ice and add a hefty shot of silver rum (white, whatever... but never use spiced or dark rum). While that rum chills and waters down just a tad... grab a handful of fresh mint leaves, a few squeezes of lime juice (NEVER use that fake lime juice ... Rose's, or such) and a dash or two of simple syrup (2 parts sugar to 1 part water... simmer it down and keep it in a squeeze bottle... it's very valuable). Now "macerate" this mixture... simply saying smash it all together (also known as "muddling"). It only takes a few seconds... you'll smell the mint as it comes together with the other ingredients. Now add this to you rum/ice mixture and shake the hell out of it. (I prefer a Boston shaker.. a 16-20 oz. tin covered with a pint glass).. now, pour into an appropriate glass, garnish with a mint sprig and slice of lime......and enjoy.

There are a few recipes. Here's my favorite.

10-12 mint leaves
1 tbsp fine sugar (not powdered)
1/2 lime, sliced
1 1/2 oz white rum
club soda or lemon lime soda.

Put the mint leaves and sugar in the bottom of a glass and muddle them (mush with a wooden spoon) until the leaves are good and shredded. Squeeze in the lime slices and drop them in. Add some ice, the rum, and top with soda. (Use club soda if you like less sweet, and lemon lime if you like more sweet.)
