Leave her food and water out someplace really open like the middle of the kitchen, but make sure you let your family know why and not to move it. I hope she didn't get outside!

When we first introduced a new cat to the family they hid all day. But your cat will learn to trust and love you if you provide it attention and a good home, just like ours did. Besides, they will get hungry enough to come out of hiding. When she does come out let her come to you or gently call her name and try to get her to understand she can trust you. After a while your kitten will probably want to cuddle you because they have a need for affection too! She will get over her nervous state but in the meantime you can try to get her to come out by opening a can of cat food and letting her smell it, she will wherever she is. Maybe get a bag of catnip and leave it in a room somewhere, she should smell it and come to get it. Check on the bag every once and a while...she'll be there eventually. Good Luckl!

Give her time. Chasing her around looking for her will only make her more nervous. Is she in a safe room with a door (and nowhere to get stuck or hurt)? Place some canned kitten food out in the middle of the room and/or some kitten milk, close the door, and let her be for a little while. Check in and see if she has come out to munch. She will warm up on her own, but you need patience! However, if she does not come out to eat or go potty for more than 2 days, you should wrangle her up and check on her. Good luck!

Do everything you can to locate the kitten - even if just by sight or sound. Once you do, place food and water near to this location - along with some toys and maybe a little catnip to attract its sense of smell if it's old enough to detect and enjoy it. This will help. Plus - keep the noise down to a very low level in the house. Sudden loud noises and startling moves will set it off to want to keep hiding.
My newest addition to the family, Miracle, was a bit scared at first too. But with lots of love, food, toys and attention she came out and now runs this home - which used to be controlled by two 2-year old cats ~lol~

Kittens and cats like anywhere where they can find, under furniture, or anyplace high. If she is a kitten, your safest bet is to look under..like the bed.
Yes your correst, animals need time to adjust. Be being as a feline there are things you can do to decrease the nervousness. If you find her..put out a small dish of milk or cream...or maybe some tuna juice? anything like that..or..walk around with a string, see if she will see it and want to play. Thatlll help get her out. Once you get her out or find it, take her to a room that she cant get far from. Itll take about a week before she is comfortable with you. but if your the master who provides the yummy cream..she will trust you!

It's best to start a new kitten out in a single room of your house - I prefer using a bathroom for this, in case of "accidents". Wherever she is, make sure you've left out plenty of food & water and access to a litter box. Try to socialize with her using toys, but also give her some time alone to explore her new space. Once she's comfortable in one room you can let her slowly adventure out to the rest of the house.
If you don't know where she is now, leave out a few dishes of food & water in a few rooms so she'll have an easy time finding it. Once you locate her, try keeping her in that one room for a few days while she gets adjusted.

Leave food and water out like the others have said. She's probably hiding somewhere warm and quiet and needs time to adjust to her new surroundings. She'll slowly make her way out into everything when she's comfortable with it. Don't try to chase her or search for her, the extra movement and noise will scare her more.

open a can of wet kitten food, and make a show of it. don't be noisy an scare her away, but be sure she can hear it open and can hear the plop when you put it on the bowl or plate. next, put that in the kitchen or where ever, sorta in the middle then sit in the room very quietly and wait for her to come, don't sit somewhere where she'll feel trapped tho, don't sit between her and the exit. it will take time, we adopted a basically feral kitten and he is now the sweetest cat anyone has ever met, he loves to cuddle and kiss. good luck :)

You can find her in the closet of a dresser drawer if it was left open. Under the bed, couch, the blankets or wherever she might feel it's a good place to hide. Remember that cats are nocturnal and will mostly come out at night. Be patient and give her time to come out when she gets hungry. With cats its all you can eat anytime.

I have a young kitten and I found her as a stray. She's been with us since last summer and she still is not fully adjusted yet. She is to the point where she knows we will not hurt her.. but you know.. still skiddish. I would give her some time and just let her be. If you bug her, she will just keep getting scared. More than likely, she WILL eventually come around.

If she's inside, she's probably in a closet or under the bed. Give her some time and she'll get hungry or thirsty and will come out. If there are other animals in the house, they will frighten her more.
