The parakeet flew out of the cage while i was cleaning the cage, and then all of the sudden it was flying around the room, and into the windows, then the cat came in and when the parakeet landed, the cat took it in it's mouth, the bird wasn't sruggling, just staying still but still alive, i got it out of it's mouth and put it back into it's cage. It was scared, but will it be ok?

yes it will probably be O.K.!! I have a 3 year old sister and she always plays with my parakeets and grabs them roughly and if they can survive my sister, believe me, it will probably survive this.

Your bird will probably be alright. I would check if the cat bit it somewhere, and if it did, I suggest taking it to the vet.For the future, when cleaning the cage, I siggest you restrain your cat and if your bird does escape, throw a small towel over it to catch it . Hope your parakeet is ok!

Cat slaiva (even one little bit) in an even very small puncture wound will kill a bird. It will not happen immediatley , but an infection will set in. If you take it to a vet asap. They can give into antibiotics to save its life. You may not even see where the cat broke the skin, but if it did this is a life threatening emergency. DOn't wait to get the bird seen by a vet.

A cat's mouth is full of bacteria. A friends bird died after preening his cat friend's fur because of the bacteria that was on the fur from the cat cleaning himself.

To protect your little friend, you might want to call your avian vet to see if your bird needs antibiotics.

Good luck.

No one can tell you if he will be ok,

Birds go into shock easy, and shock and kill a parakeet easy, cover him over for the night so he can get some rest, consider shooting the cat and looking after your bird a bit better everyone knows birds and cats dont mix!

If your bird looks okay after an hour goes by he's probably good to go. You can always call the vet if you think best.
I bet the cat is mad at you. Mine will sulk at me when I take a wild bird from him. I wish he would go do that someplace else besides the kitchen deck (I'm usually in the kitchen). You might go get kitty a toy and really give him a fun time, so he doesn't pee in one of your shoes or something. Cats can be spiteful.

yes, your bird will be okay!!! Thankfully!!! One time a crow flew down my chimney, I caught it by throwing a blanket over it. I strongly suggest throwing a blanket over it or a towel in another situtation like that. Hopefully this wont happen again!

It will probably be all right. To catch a bird, throw a towel over it.
