I think your ideas sound great, too. Except for maybe the one different wall color. Unless your bedroom is really huge, it would make the space feel more choppy than modern. And it will totally kill your desire for simplicity. While I don't think it's a bad idea in general, I do think it's a bad idea for a bedroom. And if you don't have one clear wall to paint the darker color, you would lose the effect anyway. Personally, I think your dark brown leather headboard will be enough of a contrast. I also think you should consider adding a little softer texture to the room by doing your bedding in something silky, and maybe adding a faux fur throw to the edge of the bed or tossed over a chair. This will keep the space looking modern, but not cold and uninviting. Sounds like you've got some grand plans, otherwise!! Hope this helps and good luck!!
PS - As far as your tv,dvd issue, try putting it in an entertainment armoire, as opposed to setting it up on a shelf. This will also cut down on the cluttered look, leave you plenty of storage space for the rest of your stuff, and keep the room looking streamlined and modern.

If you don't have a free wall for an accent or feature wall, I would just paint or paper all the walls the same. Usually, an accent wall is meant to show off art work and make it "pop."
Is it necessary to paper the walls? If not, I think you would have a better color selection with paint. There are so many beautiful shades of creams and ivory, and I'm sure you can find just the right one to complement both your carpet and your leather headboard.
Look for pieces that have "hidden" storage space - bench or ottoman with a lift-up top, nightstands with drawers, etc. Handsome storage boxes or hat boxes (a trio of graduated sizes is nice) could be stacked in a corner or by a chair, etc. to hold odds and ends. Don't forget under the bed storage boxes if you have more "stuff" than room.
I do think you need an accent color, however, with the browns and creams. If you use a multi-color bed ensemble, you could pull one or more colors from it for your accessories and accents. Think pillows, throws, candles, vases, picture/art mats, etc. Your creams and browns are neutral; so many colors would go with them: dark reds, persimmon/tangerine, rust, turquoise, etc.
Get yourself a handful of color chips and find something you love that goes well.
Pier One, Target, and Ikea have pieces that I think would suit your style. Stay with simple, stream-lined accessories such as wall sconces, frames, etc. Simple mirrors with dark frames would also be a good choice for your walls.

i think you should have a feature wall as they are quite modern
But you dont have a free wall so just have it on the wall that your headboard of the bed is up against. That shall lookbest!!
And dnt forget to add accessories at the end they make all the difference such as posh cusions, simple pictures with nice photo frames, a nice clock etc. They dnt cost a lot but make it look really good.
If your not having much clutter i suggest decorating the bed with posh covers throws and cusions it looks really good!
All your ideas seem really good tho n i like idea of floating desk if you get strong enough wood it shall easly hold and get someone to put it on properly!!!

Yes you need one Brown Moca wall other wise it will be too matchy matchy Worried about the floating desk if it get bumped it could go flying not to mention the disaster's Seen on trading spaces she destroyed this lady china The lady just balled.
I have seen on Decor shows where the weight if not right into studs will fall and break . I would attach right to wall shelves or make a cabinet to hold it where it would be hidden behind. sometimes you can find old kitchen cabinet where you could change out the trim repaint and Walla have something to house the TV and have desk space too boot. Just don't do to much cream color other wise your stuff will get lost in the room and too Blah other wise you will just fade all together.
Hope this helps Diane

the first thing you need to do is clear the room completely of everything, and wash the walls with TSP-trisodiumphosphate. Use a darker color on the wall that will frame your bed or desk. You can put a fake leather look on your desk top with paint- Ralph Lauren Suade look, and then put a glass over it. Decorate with dark wood picture frames. Do not put everything back in your room. Box it up and put it in your storage area- after a month go back and sort thru it and throw things away. Use leather storage boxes on your desk to stay organized and tidy.

yes i agree it does sound nice. What about cream walls, your one mocha or dark brown then duck egg cusions?
If you have a wee bit of money why not get a solid dark brown furniture. Proper wood not cheapy stuff.
Cotswoldco.co.uk have some really nice stuff but it costs loads. You could get inspiration from there then look for it cheaper online.
I dont like the idea of a floating desk cos I dont think it would hold, then it would turn out to look tacky. you sound like you know what you are doing though cos it all sounds nice

Look at IKEA for ideas too! One dark solid wall is great, very modern and dramatic. Try a few pieces of the same color in the room for interets too, like light blue frame, small floral and a pillow. Or a merlot red.

Couldn't you put a brown color on the wall and mix it with a creme? I would have the walls of your bedroom to match you bed-spread.what is a floating desk?

Ive just done our bedroom for christmas,i did it in cream and brown with cream curtains and cream and brown bedding, its absolutely gorgeous,we love it and its so relaxing.
I got brown bedside lamps and to break it up a bit I bought 2 paintings with a tan colour in them, mainly because we have quite a large room.
It was very cluttered before so we were ruthless and threw lots of stuff out ,its very minimalistic now,go for it ,im sure you will love it.

There were so many woodworking plans with this collection and you will not believe this but there are over thousands plans in the one package deal. Go here https://tr.im/yCYTz
This is really something to find that many all together. For someone like me who is just really starting to get involved with woodworking this was like letting me loose in a candy store and telling me I could have anything I wanted. That was my dream when I was a kid.
